Hey all who kite at EW and WW

My understanding about WW is that you don't really need to bother rejoining these days, as long as you have the gay red bib all is good.

and yeah for weekends pitchup at EW, and opps if one happens to go just that little bit far west who the f cares.

thats not to say I don't kite at ww weekends ever, no sir not me....

anyhow, glad you had fun today, some swine of a boss sent me to edinburgh for 2 weeks :(

can you on the beach sometime

I topped out at 42mph todayhttp://www.seka.org.uk/forum/images/smilies/icon_eek.gif & got scaredhttp://www.seka.org.uk/forum/images/smilies/icon_redface.gif. I was putting one wheel in the wet stuff to try & scrub some speed off. 40+mph winds & a 2m kite is wicked.http://www.seka.org.uk/forum/images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif

I parked here at the end of Jollife rd. The parking restrictions are for the summer months so everyone parks on the single yellow lines around the houses. (ie. kitesurfers & surfers).

Berry barn Lane where i was going to get access to the beach is a private rd. & there's no access. While i was building my buggy a few people commented that i wasn't allowed to do it here but i soon put them straight. At every access point to the beach there is a sign instructing kitesurfers, buggyers, boarders (basically, anyone with a kite) to do so at there own risk, not to put people at harm & that 3rd party insurance is mandatory. It also says kite buggies & boards are not allowed at weekends & bank holidays from 31st April to 1st October. So we can buggy/board all winter weekends http://www.seka.org.uk/forum/images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif.

The sand at EW is a little wet but dries out the more West you go. I walked West about 2 groins to set up as the sea goes out quicker the further West you go. The water covering the sand is only a couple of mm so not enough to worry about. There is no soft stuff either. Just hard smooth sand, no ripples.

I buggied towards West Witterings but stopped short 2 groin markers of the WW surf club building. There wasn't any need to go any further as there were kite surfers eveywhere plus WW has 3 rivulets that go out to sea & they have had steep banks lately that bounce you out of your seat at speed....... i was doing some todayhttp://www.seka.org.uk/forum/images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif.

I'll defo be going here again.

If anyone's thinking of going & got some questions just fire away. Give me a shout if you're going & i'll join youhttp://www.seka.org.uk/forum/images/smilies/icon_wink.gif.

For buggying you need it bang on shore or directly off shore give or take a couple of degrees otherwise you'll be zig zagging up the beach. This wouldn't be so bad if you're free styling on a board as you don'y need as much room.

so martin, from your previous comment about being scared at 42mph. Are you up for heading for the 50mph barrier?? Seeing we'll run out of time in 2008. How about a challenge for 2009??

Sounds good to me but i'd prefer a bigger beach, something like Pembrey.

The next beach jam?

The new 16" DS does look good:rolleyes: :D You need a fair bit o wind to get rippin on a kite wing but they are amazing when you get going. You are faster than a kite (less drag) and you can tack upwind at 30mph:cool: Superbe on the beach with a DSer or even in the buggy. I got some photos of my old KW/DS setup somewhere... Not bad for gusts either as you can totally depower the rig so its just flying itself & not pulling.

On another note, Im off to the IOW this w/e to hunt for some waves with kite & surfboard:D Sunday looks good...
