You should consider your progression... I started with a PLXRcomp so no probs with that ~ till I jumped the A$$ off it and it didn't last very long even with reinforcements...

Of the two you list I would say the typhoon easy (well hands down actually) as a "proper investment" as it will do more for you in the future than the PL

I'm on flexi now so consider a second hand flexi as an option as well (or even a new one at just over £300) as they dismantle easily after a sesh too

there may be some in the sales section on here or try ebay (even just for a look ;))

I'm with Frakke, check out the for sale section, theres some flexi bugsgoing reasonable prices and tey'll be far better IMHO. I've never looked back after getting rid of my PL comp. If you're determined to not have a flexi for some strange reason then go for the typhoon, but I've heard some horror stories about them as well.

I would get a a PL comp like mine, they are superb and they are good because you can take em to bits really fast and put them back togeter really fast.

Ha Ha:D good one kite geek - it would of been even better if it was April eh?

Get a second hand flexi - you cant got wrong

If you want to buy new why don't you look at the RS buggy on ebay from Germany ( Ralf Seeburger). Lot's of good reports on them and new incl delivery for £179 I think.
The addresses are:

Ralf seeburger - gura01@web.de, rsbuggy.co.uk, or pm Maverick440 on here.

Or kep your eyes peeled for a 2nd hand flexi

If you are starting out, don't disregard the very cheap, very collapsible Radsails - pick one up secondhand, learn your craft, then decide your route. I did that(well, bought a new one) then decided to cruise rather than race or freestyle. I sold the Radsails for a small loss, and bought an RS with wide axle and Midi wheels. A solid cruiser, although not very collapsible. Easily fits on roof bars though.

by the way the typhoons dont collapse very easily if you must break it down to go home, so i use a bike rack and stick it on there, saves you having to line your boot with plastic or hoover the sand out every week.

thanks for the advice all, i think im going to go for the typhoon as for the money it seem to be the best i can get, im only gonna use it for fun and crusing as i mostly landboard. i really want something with good back support and the pl comp does not have this and im not to keen on the rs buggy. i know flexi is prob the best but just can afford the price tag!!

Make sure you read up on the typhoon before purchasing. IIRC there was some issues with QC and a bad batch went out that had a lot of failures. Make sure you don't get lumbered with a dud!

If it sjust cruising you want then definitely check out the RS before you buy. For the money they're an excellent cruiser with lots of happy people.

I have a modded Flexi and a MKi Typhoon - for rattling up and down the beach the Typhoon wins hands down every time. The quality issues were only with a few MKiis and unfortunately the rumour & gossip mill gave it a bad name.

The result is that you can now but a brand new £450 quality buggy for £200 ...... you can't loose!
