KermitStu Posted October 10, 2006 Author Report Posted October 10, 2006 im not taking it anywhere far, just got lost briefly! GOOD:mad: Quote
KermitStu Posted October 10, 2006 Author Report Posted October 10, 2006 thanks you mad man thats a great offer and im sure we will take you up on it Quote
Junior Posted October 10, 2006 Report Posted October 10, 2006 sounds very good Stu, would love too, possibly get a Tv station involved, either normal tv, or sumink like SKY and extreme sports. this would be huge publicity for kiting, and i personally wud love to have a big thing like this on my TV channel even do just a sponsored ride. get sponsorship off friends and family, give it to a charity. Quote
wenglish Posted October 10, 2006 Report Posted October 10, 2006 should be easy to get local news on it, sky might be a bit too much Quote
Junior Posted October 10, 2006 Report Posted October 10, 2006 only a thought:p you never no they do show sh!t things like mens beach volleyball. Quote
Rossp Posted October 10, 2006 Report Posted October 10, 2006 it would be a bit hard cos on land ud be over powered but then on water ud be a bit underpowered Quote
wenglish Posted October 10, 2006 Report Posted October 10, 2006 the idea of teams of 3 to do it, one for each part has come up. this would sort all problems out, if its not windy enough for water its running or swimming time i guess. Quote
RandomJon Posted October 10, 2006 Report Posted October 10, 2006 I would join in if I had a buggy or a kiteboard, or a kite suitable for all three disciplines. Quote
spooky Posted October 10, 2006 Report Posted October 10, 2006 Put the Kitesurfing in the middle, means you can finish on land where you can have a finish line and more people to watch? Depending on size of beach, it coudl be run as a simple drag, Buggy xx distance in one direction, Swap to water and surf back, land, then board back up to finish. Or if small beach each leg is up & down, so stat finish at same place. Would need on shore winds to work though? Jon Quote
wenglish Posted October 10, 2006 Report Posted October 10, 2006 sould work in a cross shore if you had the buggiers going up wind, nice idea about having the finish on land. a big enough beach has been found i think. Quote
KermitStu Posted October 10, 2006 Author Report Posted October 10, 2006 this is great guys! ok the idea of having three people will make it easyer and mean more people could take part with out over crouding the course this would mean finding a buggyer landboardr and a kite surfer also jon the idea of having kite surfing in the middle sounds like the best as this will give a land satrt as well as a land finish @ junior im sure if we got in touch with extream channel in addvance they may do something on it as its a sport in britain and they have been showing alot of kite surfing on extream now so a kite triathlon should incapture them more. if anything they do have a spot on tv where you can addvitise an event and im sure they will atleast let us inounce it on there as its for the general public keep the ideas comming guys i want this to work now hope fully we will be able to arrange some sponsore ship form the big companys if not we are going to have to get the momeny some other way. ( we may not need alot to get the thing running as i belive we know the life guards on a beach and they may be willing to help out ) its the council we need ot talk to next thanks again guys happy winds stu Quote
walty666 Posted October 10, 2006 Report Posted October 10, 2006 yeah, and you've got to carry all your kit with you at the same time... buggy strapped to you back while surfing, etc... Quote
Spyke Posted October 10, 2006 Report Posted October 10, 2006 sound like quite a laugh and like Wenglish said if its at Aber then its in SWATK territory and we are pretty damn good at orgainising things.... Quote
Chris k333 Posted October 10, 2006 Report Posted October 10, 2006 Gonna say if you had big enough beach could you not simply make it go one direction on board... kite surf back up and finish on buggy or some thing? Hehe wonder what its like to kite surf with a yak haha.. i can just do all 3 so i would do it haha.. to might have to borrow the boards and get some kite surfing practise in with the yaks haha. Quote
KermitStu Posted October 11, 2006 Author Report Posted October 11, 2006 well pyke i think i may just take you up on swatk organisation skill as your in the aera it will be easyer for you to speak to local people Quote
dazman Posted October 11, 2006 Report Posted October 11, 2006 Sound like a good idea for a fundraiser, and as has already been suggested a team of 3, 1 boarder, 1 buggier and 1 surfer would make things easier. Quote
kitegirl Posted October 11, 2006 Report Posted October 11, 2006 Yup, count me in. I'll be on the Waroo 07 then Let me know where, when etc... am a bit rubbish and may not get round to checking up on this thread again..
