I must confess that I had/have my suspicions which is why Iv'e posted what I have ....... I'm probably wrong, but who knows???? Can anyone remember the name of Richards girfriend? Like James pointed out Softmint is just a kiter from the area. I have met Richard a few times though and have always found him to be a nice bloke and Sally is nice too for that matter. Softmint does have bad dyslexia. I only commented on that because of the rather scathing remarks about his spelling and that. He won't tell people and won't use it as an excuse. He does the best he can. Yes, sometimes what he writes maybe a little difficult to follow because he can't use punctation properly. He does try his best though, bless him. Not everyone has the same level of ability and you jsut have to make allowances for that. Where possible I do check what he sends to people to make sure it's ok as he knows that it can be hard to follow. Yes I am aware this is your home thread. But with respect here, the thread is essentially owned by Flexifoil. They advertise the threads as I quote 'a great place to discuss kiting and meet people in your area & others with an interest in all aspects of kites'. This means that it is an open thread for anyone to comment on NOT solely for those from Peterborough. Which is a good job really given that some of those that post under the Peterborough thread should really be posting on the Lincs thread if you want to base threads on geography. Softmint first approached you when we moved back up to Lincs from Eastbourne. He is a friendly guy with a sense of humour. You lot however did not give him chance. You totally snubbed him and told him to sod off that he wasn't welcome to post on your thread. Despite this he has still followed the thread along with several others that he has also posted on. Ha funny the last I knew Airbossworld were to be in competition for LKP. Or am I wrong?? There are after all a fair few of you that have Airbossworld stated in your signature. Just an observation. My point is that if you have comments about the park you should post them on their thread based on your reckoning not mine. This would also give them chance to have the right to defend themselves. Comparing one to another is a fair enough thing to do however you have to consider other people's views too. No one is pimping the kite park on the Peterborough thread Softmint has merely commented in response to your comments. I thought this was the whole idea of a thread. Or am I wrong?? That will give you something to think about. Yep, I understand your point on that one, we are open to jokes and jesting as much as the next. Ask anyone who knows us. They think we are both total nutters. Yep I know kiting is a good release from daily life for those who opt to indulge in it. Softmint is not instantly jumping to LKP's defence. He is as I said responding to your comments. The Kite Park does have a few downsides but then so does every other kite park. The point is that if all you lot do is slate it and they cant get the members they need to cover overheads and allow for the expansion (Richard to my knowledge has big plans for the place) then they will close. This will be a loss for kiting and a gain for supermarkets in your region who will get their spuds and other veg from that field. Think about it guys.... The bloke is only trying to do something for you all and you shove it back in his face. Give him chance to finish the place and then visit it. You will no doubt still ***** about the place. Do you really want to see somewhere like that close though?? Ultimately it will put other people off doing the same sort of thing Richard is trying to do. How many kite parks are there in Peterborough exactly?? I mean those solely dedicated to kites not the local rec. I am not trying to sell you the kite park or pimping it in any way. I can see what's happening though and think you should all stick together. Stick with the joking and jesting, and the childish behaviour too BUT kick the *****y, snide comments on a personal level and enjoy the hobby as a united group not one that is divided because people cant make an effort to get on and see other's point of view And yes mate I can see other peoples opinions and that thanks a lot. Unlike you lot though I am not so stuck in my ways that I can't be civil and behave that way. Temple to kiting.... I detect sarcasm there. That's my strong point so if you want some lessons I charge at an hourly rate and meet on the sidelines of LKP on a Saturday. Kelly

I allso think that LPK will be a good freestyle park and wish Richard well in his venture, he has done a far bit since the last time i visited his park and it is looking good. Was glad to see and get the use part of his new road. It was a shame that the rain gods where present was looking forward to a blast in a bug(thanks Rob:)). Try and join us at mable softmint and meet us all and see that we are a good crew,some if not all are old farts above 30,but we do have a young chav in our group,try and not let him put you off us,we only do this sport to have fun some of it fast ,but in my case most of the time in sheer terror,but what a giggle:D. Have just ducked down out of the way,just seen how many of you are reading.

Kelly That never happened and never would. Not one person on here would say that. Airboss were in collaboration with LKP at one point I believe. I only know of 2 people actually linked to the shop........ RiTchie and Bear. All forum have sections and sub threads so people can post in the apprpriate part. The appropriate part for our groups general nattering is here!! The prices that LKP charge for a day for me and the wife ...... I could'nt afford the additional cost of a session with you on the sidelines and the missus might not be too chuffed either :p

Why not have 15 people paying 100 quid each, rather than 7 paying 200... Same amount of money coming in, more good publicity, less complaining about the price being out of the market, and potentally more day visitors as it will be busy and people will want to give it a shot if driving by and see a field full of kites. It will more than likley be a great park as things stand, as all the projects for it come to a close and the words spread. All that has to be seen is if it does become a field of mud once a few days of rain have fallen (We all hope not) and enough people subscribe to keep it running.
