davo1599968642 Posted October 2, 2006 Report Posted October 2, 2006 must admit though Richtea that we left in the middle of the storm, thank god Richard had half of the road there we would have got stuck otherwise. was a tad soggy where we where but could have drained by the time he got there:rolleyes:
softmint Posted October 2, 2006 Report Posted October 2, 2006 Hi there, My name is Kelly. I have a few things I would like to point out to you. 1. None of you actually know Softmint, you know nothing about his kite skills in any way shape or form. He has been kiting now for going on 7 years. It is incredibly juvenile to result to that level of response. Next thing will be the my daddy is bigger than your daddy arguement. GROW UP! 2. He has dyslexia and that is why his spelling and that is so bad. And from what I have seen on the forum as a whole you all need to go back to school for some lessons in the English Language. 3. We did go to LKP yesterday and there was no one there. We got there after a downpour. We had things to do before we left here. Yes, there is actually life outside of the kite world. 4. Softmint did not say that it wasn't wet at LKP. I feel however, that you are exaggerating the extent of the wetness. The field itself was fine. Part of the track down to the field was waterlogged and we too had a few problems with getting back from the field in the car. 5. LKP is not yet finished in its construction. As Davo I think it was points out only part of the roadway is finished. Give the poor guy a chance for God's sake he is trying to build the park on top of his usual work. 6. What have you said to Richard (LKP) that was worth listening to?? I am sure that he has listened to what you have said and decieded that it wasn't worth acting on. He does carry out groundworks for a living and he has lived there his whole life so I would think he knows a thing or two more than you. 7. Yes, the kite park does have it's own thread. So why are your comments about it not on that thread if you have something to say about it? You are obviously biased in your opinions anyway given you all seem to be fliers for a LKP competitor. 8. Softmint does not just jump on here to comment about the LKP. He tried months back to broach you all in conversation and the such like. But you are all so wrapped up in your own bunch that you snubbed him totally. So based on that the only way to get anywhere with the Peterborough bunch is to rile you with an arguement. 9. Given the general public dislike of kiting as a whole shouldn't you all be try and get on a little better. You would think that a shared hobby would bring people closer together. Obviously kiters are just like school kids in who they may or may not get on with. It's tragic really. 10. Instead of *****ing about the kite park why not just not comment about it at all. You have abviously made your views clear. Yes, everyone is entitled to their own opinions, but face the fact that the views may now be shared. 11. You have made your stand on LKP clear. So instead of slating it why can't you all just leave things be and let people make up their own minds. I think that is a much better idea than being picky and trying to slate the place over stupid things. Softmint has on the whole only tried to highlight points to you about information you do not appear to have had. 12. Like has been pointed out. Richard (LKP) has not yet finished building the park. Why don't you just let him finish the place and come have a look when he holds an open day and the proper road surface, car park and the such are all completed. To my knowledge Richard is still looking into other possibilities to cater for your other desires like food albeit there is a well stocked garage only 10 minutes walk from the site. 13. If you feel that other kite parks are more superior then fair enough. Each to their own. You are the ones pointing out why you feel they are. Softmint has merely tried to point out the place isn't finished. 14. We went up to the park the other day (not this last Sunday) like he said after a major downpour the track down was a bit slippy but the grass of the park itself was ok. As weaponxrob would tell you as he was there. The drainage on the grass was ok. I was sat on a chair at the edge of the field and I had no problems with sinking anywhere. I know that you are going to come back with comments and critisims about what I have said, but go ahead. I couldn't give a rat's ass. I feel that the whole lot of you should just grow up and act like the adults that you are meant to be. Softmint for your knowledge knows nothing about this post. I have done this off my own back because I believe that you should all share your interests with enthusiasm not ***** and moan like old women. Richard (LKP) did his research before setting out. Yes, the price may seem steep but he has to cover the costs to maintain the place. If you have somewhere cheaper then go ahead and enjoy it. Like I said each to their own. You should be happy though that someone is trying to provide you a maintained area specifically built for your hobby where you aren't going to have to deal with goal posts, dogs and all that. I am not as you say of Softmint some LKP pimp or anything like that. I am a totally non-biased observer. Bring on the comments I say. It is after all water off a ducks back to me. I don't know any of you nor do I particularily want to if this is the way you behave. Fly and enjoy it but leave the petty squabbles to the kids.
Pilgrim Posted October 2, 2006 Report Posted October 2, 2006 Yes, the price may seem steep... I'm afraid that's it in a nutshell for me Kelly. Good post tho'....

coupe-se Posted October 2, 2006 Report Posted October 2, 2006 Now then 'Kelly' This is our home thread to talk about whever we like. Here we chat, talk b0ll0x and don't take things too seriously. If people didn't come blubbering on here with the sole aim of Pimping a certain place thing, there would be no problem. I am not posting and being negative about the kite park anywhere other than here on the forum to keep it here amongst my friends. Most of us don't fly for any competetor of the LKP by the way!!! I have to act all serious and grown up at work and in life in general ....... on here and kiting is where I get to act childish and stupid. Another person on here who posts daily is badly dyslexic but tries his best to post in an understandable way....... can you spot who? Softmints posts ARE very difficult to read and understand, unfortunately this is fact! Everyone who gets accused of bad grammar/spelling on the forum here claims they are dyslexic I'm not saying that softmint isn't, just my observation. I very much hope we have not snubbed softmint in the past, we are actaually are friendly bunch as people who have joined us will testify. We do take the mickey out of each other and expect people to join in and get stuck in. If people read all my comments about LKP after the leg pulling you'll see that I have said what a great Freestyle park it could be and an excellent location for local kiters. I find it funny to bait people that instantly jump to its defense ........ hands up, bad on my part Is softmint Richard and are you Richards girfriend????????? I must confess that I had/have my suspicions which is why Iv'e posted what I have ....... I'm probably wrong, but who knows???? Can anyone remember the name of Richards girfriend? LKP is a 'Temple to Kiters'!!!! I love all kiters and enjoy the company of all
dunx2022 Posted October 2, 2006 Report Posted October 2, 2006 Hi Dunx Hello Jim :D .........and all you others nutters!!! Just poked my nose in and am glad to see things don't change
jabbab Posted October 2, 2006 Report Posted October 2, 2006 Is softmint Richard and are you Richards girfriend????????? I must confess that I had/have my suspicions which is why Iv'e posted what I have ....... I'm probably wrong, but who knows???? Can anyone reember the name of Richards girfriend? Neither of them are Richard or his Girlfriend Sally, just fellow kiter out in the wilds of Lincolnshire, like me and I'm not Richard either before you ask. Like to watch your thread among a lot of others, good laugh at times. James
coupe-se Posted October 2, 2006 Report Posted October 2, 2006 Hi Dunx Victor Meldrew here, still moaning and *****ing about everthing and anything:o Still haven't learnt to shut up, but trying. Think I may have out stayed my welcome and possibly time for me leave everyone alone and walk away. Hope your job is still ok and life is tickerty-boo for you!!

Like to watch your thread among a lot of others, good laugh at times. James OH in the biggest way possible then :o I really did think it was him by the way he was a bit OTT about LKP, I'll stop trying to provoke a reaction then and tone it down alot. You who don't know me won't realise that some of my rants are a bit tongue in cheek and posted with a big grin behind the typing. It can be entertaining on here at times ...... all are welcome to get stuck in
Sir Harvo Posted October 2, 2006 Report Posted October 2, 2006 I'll save reading that long softmint post untill I can't sleep. I like to read fiction...........
avspider Posted October 2, 2006 Report Posted October 2, 2006 on a more serious note, do any "quick" buggiers up there still use mountain bike full face helmets?? as someone had an accident at the hoy club racing last weekend, and now has 25 stitches in his face. i personally feel that they do NOT give enough facial protection.
popeyethewelder Posted October 2, 2006 Report Posted October 2, 2006 looking at who is sat on the bottom of this thread....its like waiting for the next sentance in a nail biting thriller.....................blowing wind across the dust plains......ok I'll get my coat

I hope both Kite parks work and work together, How about short course racing on the east coast using the kite parks we have etc. Don't know anything about racing but in a field surely a course could be set out and heats run etc. Good crack near to home. JAmes
dunx2022 Posted October 2, 2006 Report Posted October 2, 2006 "Victor Meldrew".... love it All forums need a resident "agitator", keeps 'em lively. Keep up the good work, too early to get ya coat Life's good in general..work, well it has it's moments if you know what I mean (ok really tho'). Gonna have to catch up with you guys on the beach real soon, last time out for me was easter time!!! I'll have to chisel the dust of my buggy and evict the moths from my kite bag

We had this discussion big time in Buggy Nuts 2??? I think. Surely they are better than a "chav" helmet and worse than a proper motoX helmet.
Sir Harvo Posted October 2, 2006 Report Posted October 2, 2006 Damn............ Keep getting server busy:confused:

None of us go quick enough anymore to break a finger nail let alone a helmet mate!!! I seem to enjoy the cruise these days and chill out in a Buggy. Sounds pretty bad though, hope the guy mends quick and isn't to scarred physically or mentaly by it:( Dunx ........ would seriously be good to see you again mate!!! I reckon softmint and Kelly should join us on a MANS beach (Mablethorpe )and enjoy a day with us also. Perhaps they'd laugh with us more.
