Why pay £12 for LKP when Empo is just down the road

Jim is right there, prob empo is a bit small but what with the weather as well I think that is a good option and we might get to see Rimmer on his crutches:eek:

from what i can gather, lkp is'nt covered in goalposts and footballers.:D

slightly less chance of a newbie being flayed against the side of a building!!

but i am often wrong! anyone else considering a fly at empo today? i could be persuaded!:o

its unlikely there are many/any footballers down there today!

keep the gin on handles dave, its better that way...

I have nowt to do so if anyone wants to come down empo give me a shout so i can come say hello...

softmint, we HAVE seen something to differ about the drainage on the field...

We aren't wholy negative about it (ill POSSIBLY become a member when im fit to fly, IF it turns into a more freestyle orientated park) but Its not massive, costs more to get there in fuel alone than Empo does, as well as then having to pay the £12 day fee...

(for those that care you have to go MINIMUM once a fortnight to get your moneys worth out of a membership)

the grass has come on alot since you was down there last richie and there's no problem with the drainage........well at the mo anyway?

there's three mounds that have started to grow that'll great for jumping off(it's abit bumpy now but i couldn't resist the temptation of trying it before it's finished.)...it's abit strange really after being use to flat grass/sand.

but you know that the wind will allway's be better at lkp than at empo just due to location and it's loads bigger than empo and yes there's no goal/rugby post in the way but most importantly no dog crap everywhere;)

but there again empo is free.....

and so is lkp ...free of goal post's and dog poo and wind direction limatation and dog walker's and gardens's;) :p

but the drainage is fine ..ok your gonna get abit of surface water when it's rain like any other site but it don't stay there for long.

but yeah it's only the money side of things that ppl are in two minds over

we all agree that we need place's like this as we all looked into another site at crimbo time just gone and we all knew then it would cost more than we thought it would but we would have gone through with it if it wasn't for the liability of the money if ppl decided not to turn up and use the site then some of us would still have to pay the money over, so what do you do?

anyway all you need to do is ring richard up (07768352520 or 07725110084) and talk to him about the price structure and way's of payment and anything alse you want to know about what's happerning down there and what going to happen then come over a few time's

but have a goodun today where ever you go today

btw take it easy dude

Havent landed in a garden or struggled in gusts on me new kites yet rob ;)

The grass situ, yeah i did just think about that, but hey ho...

The wind at LKP prob will be better BUT i have free membership to another airfield that is to the half mile the same distance from me...

and the wind there is just as good... (and its bigger)

Like i said previously, the lumpy bumpy ness for freestyl ecould persuade me to take one of the 10 days packs...

Been ill all week and possibly due to this I'm not in the best mood.........

Softmint .......... why don't you feck off with your LKP pimping b0ll0x!!! Your talking to a group with more kiting experience than you can ever dream of ......... been there/done it .......... stop talking like a clueless newbie pratt. The only time you post on here to to spew out LKP spin!!

Richard LKP does not listen to anyones opinions and has ignored what most of this group has said. He has employed questionable tactics in setting up the park which many of us are privy to. I will not EVER visit the park or have anything to do with the bloke due to all of this on principle.

Drainage ......... MANY of us have been on that site when there had been little rainfall and there were BOGGY patches and ALOT of surface water. This is fact so why say its not true?? The coming wet season will show what the drainage is like and hopefully (for the sake of the kiters) it will not be as wet and water logged as the rest of the fens. Fens are drained well but still retain alot of water. Fen drainage stops flooding.

Rob ....... freestylers need a park like the LKP, for them its size is perfect. People like Jim, Tuffy and myself have no use for such a small park. Good idea to ring Richard and then have him constantly ring you back and not want to listen to what you say. Why do people need to ring him exactly????? So he can agressively talk you into joining and agree with him?

If LKP suceeds, the good!! I just wish people like Softmint would stop talking utter b0ll0x about the place tho and stop trying to ram it down my neck!!! £12 per person for a day pass is a complete and utter RIP OFF in my personal view.

Garys park is far superior in every way in reality and cheaper and bigger. The hold up is all to do with the local authorities slow processing od the planning. I won't be jumping on other peoples thread like softmint and trying to ram it down everyones neck tho. IF a kite park is good it will sell itself.

Love and peace to all kiters and all that but bugger off from pimping and talkingg out your ar$e on my home thread!!!

Well said that man !!!

We do not require him coming on our thread and commenting on our comments.

Softmint - sling yer hook!

LKP will suit some and good for them I say!! There is a thread all about it where they can get all excited and discuss it finer points ....... again good for them. Softmint yet again is not letting people have an opinion ........sound like someone else connected with the LKP!! I wonder if he searches the forum every day, constantly ready to jump in at a minutes notice whenever someone dare mentions the LKP. His posts may get a little more respect and be understood more if he discovered punctuation, sentences and basic grammar, they are terrible to try and read/understand

To use a popular phrase ....... it boils my pi$$ that he only ever jumps on here bleating on about the LKP!!

I've had a funny virus/illness thats made me deaf alot of the week with a severe squealing/ringing in my ears and feeling like ****e. To top it off I had the mother of all migraines on Friday that is just shifting today.

What does the properties of argon offer as regards your welding then Carl/Jim?

Jim ....... a freind of mine is rather keen to have a nose at your Jet-Kart and see it lit up!! Have you thought any more about a day at Santa-Pod and a 'run-what-you-brung' session???? :D  The runway at Garys site at Wymondon looks rather suitable for your Kart as well ;)

Posted

No, possibly not Rob but I know a man that can :)

Argon - errrrrrrr, dunno really. I don't use Argon, I use BOC Stainshield TIG gas.

Kart - If he want's to come and take a look one evening then he is more than welcome Nick :)

well....Argon is a chemical element designated by the symbol Ar. Argon has atomic number 18 and is the third element in group 18 of the periodic table (noble gases). Argon is present in the Earth's atmosphere at slightly less than 1 % making it the most common noble gas on Earth

  • Argon is used as an inert gas shield in many forms of welding, including metal inert gas welding and tungsten inert gas welding.
  • as the gas of choice for the plasma used in ICP Spectroscopy.
  • as a non-reactive blanket in the manufacture of titanium and other reactive elements.
  • as a protective atmosphere for growing silicon and germanium crystals.
  • as a gas for use in plasma globes.
  • as a gas for thermal insulation in energy efficient windows.
  • Argon-39 has been used for a number of applications, primarily ice coring. It has also been used for ground water dating.
  • Cryosurgery procedures such as cryoablation use liquified argon to destroy cancer cells.
  • Liquid argon is used in calorimetry in experimental particle physics.
  • Argon is used in technical Scuba diving to inflate the dry suit, because it is inert and has low thermal conductivity.
  • Blue argon lasers are used in surgery to weld arteries, destroy tumors, and to correct eye defects.
  • Due to its inert qualities, it is commonly used by museum conservators to protect old materials or documents, which are prone to gradual oxidisation in the presence of air.
  • Argon is used in the tires of luxury cars to protect the rubber from oxygen and to ensure quiet tires when the car moves at fast speeds.

that may help you......scares the sh*t outta me:D

Yes Rimblob, get yerself a packet of sherbet flying saucers, a good digi cam, a strange outdoor backdrop and see if you can get yer self in the local rag.

It's amazing what the Joe public will believe is an invasion of the ET kind :)

Been out today AGAIN looking at baby buggys/pram thingys.

FINALLY found the one we are GOING to buy - at caffin last! :o

The Bugaboo cemeleon. It's took us 5 weeks to get it down to this one.

It does everything we need it to do. Found an online deal with a free car seat that will fit the chassis too :D

Who said baby's cost a fortune :o :)

When we bought our pram, the instructions said.......... do not fold the pram, with the baby still in it:eek: FFS

EDIT

Sorry I haven't congratulated you Jim, I was making sure it was true. Last time i rang one of you lot up to congratulate them about an impending arrival I looked a right Tw@t as the new arrival was a feckin car:rolleyes:

Oh I see..........  :o

Its good for welding with then I assume ........ sounds expensive as well!!! :D
