@Grant, so you still like the Vortex then?

I would marry it if I could have two spouses ;). The beach runs on Saturday were fantastic (not for the nudist reasons mind you, very offputting at speed!), I was power-up at 25mph with the 14m but I was still ground-bound! There was some lift but it was smooth to appear and esy to manage.

I swapped to the 10m to christen it and that was great fun. It was so quick in the high winds it moves more like foil. Still very controllable power and again lots of stability (no luffing, folding tips etc) - I only wish I had GPS with me to clock my speed as it felt very fast!

Only downside is landing Arcs in 25mph ... lucky there was so many people around willing to help grab a tip ;)

Given more spare cash, I would definately invest in the 17m for low-wind (and a bit of kite-surfing which I'm desparate to try now!) and possibly the 8m for MAtthew to learn on and for me in silly winds :). Still, I think I need my wide-axel VMax first!

if anyone needs new lines then Marrionville models (ebay shop) have loads of lines at very good prices at the moment. i've bought some to replace my lines. i bought my little radsail from these people last year and got a good service and a cracking price.

@grant when you got your vortex(s) delivered from Germany, what delivery firm did they arrive with?

you better not have won that 17m the other day for the ridiculas price of £343! I was planning a last minute bid but my PC froze and I missed out!

Anyway, yes it was from ab-shop, it took 3 days to arrive after payment ... but I have no idea who the courier was as my wife recieved it and I ripped the box open in excitement without look at the labels :)

you guessed it! i didn't think i'd get it as i only put £350 in as my max bid.

i'm gonna have a fly with it and see what its like, i was really looking for another Venom2 but if this isn't too slow then i think it'll be fine for me.

i'll let you know when i'm flying next cos i'd love to be able to compare it with the 14m in the same session!!

Definitely going to try and get a fly in over this weekend. Currently looks like an low Easterly so the localish beaches are probably no good, so I might give Cleeve a go.

Anyone fancy it?

BTW, are the WKC now an arc majority!?? Guy and I have 3 each, and Grant has 2! Also 2 guys at Perdy have P15s too.

Love it!

You still haven't seen the light though!! What is Cleeve like on an Easterly, as that is what the early forecast is indicating.

I think Guy was expecting to get the "all clear" from the hospital today, however it could have gone either way so he will either be out at the weekend or having surgery.

ALL THE BEST GUY!!

Good from the East, quite smooth and not so much uplift:eek: However I'm sure there will be lots of thermal activity as it will be warm, so a few bumps:cool:

Good to hear that Guy is on the mend.

Happy with the Frenzy:p ..however I think the 07 may be very much like an arc;)

I want to get out but I can probably only make Sunday this weekend (wife is working Saturday), though Cleave might be a little crowded for the VMax :)

Just to complete this current kite spending session we have today added a VW T25 Camper to my VMax and pair of Vortexes, so we are now fully beach prepared :)

Is it a high top?

http://i15.ebayimg.com/05/i/07/a6/9f/f6_12.JPG

Yep, though we've no idea what it's like as we don't collect it until tonight when I get back from Leeds

BTW, Grant are you free for a cheeky fly / child mind this friday?

Would like to .... but have to go to Hertfordshire for a 10:30-12:30, so doubt I'd be back and able to fly until 3:30-4:00? Is that any use to you?

Sounds doable.

Might get out his afternoon / early evening after work. Keep an eye on the wind, looks a little low but should be nice and warm.

Here are the current wind conditions in worcester, the reading update every time you refresh the page. Links are from this site http://www.pollenuk.co.uk/weatherupload/Weather_Summary.htm .

http://www.pollenuk.co.uk/weatherupload/WindDirection.gif

http://www.pollenuk.co.uk/weatherupload/WindSpeed.gif

(BTW readings are in m/s and should be multiplied by 2.237 to get mph.)

good news is that i can start driving again! phew!

bad news is that i've got to where the back brace for another 6 weeks! aahhh!

my spine hasn't changed from the xrays i had the day it happened which basically means that there is no further crushing going on and that my spine isn't collapsing at the moment.

the specialist says that its best to play safe and keep it on for longer as this will lessen the chances of having to have surgery in later life.

i might still be out for a bit of static flying or some gentle buggying at some point in the near future but mastering the 360's will have to wait!!!

take care and safe flying.

Guy

Hey all,

Back in the land of no wind again gggrrrrreaat. Off to Dovey this weekend. Forecast looks cack, but what the hey, often wrong. Anyone else up there

Spent some time riding with some Pro's in Egypt, makes you realise how sh*t you really are. Still fun though.

Grant nice call on the camper, you want be alone in Wales. I have one and there's atleast 3 others I think.

Later

Mark

@Ajunkie Not sure about Dovey this weekend as you say the forecast an't good and I may be picking up a new car for the wife. Have thought about getting her to get use to it by driving me to Dovey though on Sunday. Will drop you a line if thats the case.

August is looking very busy at present with me only at home for 1 weekend and kitesurfing the rest. Can't wait. No comparison to Egypt though.
