Gandromedus Posted November 30, 2005 Report Posted November 30, 2005 On a good windy day, when you're worried about being overpowered get a mate to hang on to your harness for some crazy tandem jumping fun, take it in turns to fly and be flown! Quote
Oceag Posted November 30, 2005 Report Posted November 30, 2005 A spray (environmentally friendly of course) that instantly firms up soft sand. Disolves when the tide covers it up so its only a temp. measure. An orange strobe light helmut for buggiers because the general public seem to have difficulty seeing us and keep getting in the way. Some very light solar powered fans in the leading edge for open foils, automatically come on as the kite starts to luff. Quote
airoholic Posted November 30, 2005 Report Posted November 30, 2005 we played kite tag with a 2.5 + 3.5 bullet (got some bad tangles!! ) we tied our shoes to the bridels and tride dropping them on each others heads. and played army man (tryin to hit each other with the kite) but stoped when we reolised if it hit us we would get very bad burns:eek: Quote
Robabank Posted December 2, 2005 Author Report Posted December 2, 2005 Riot boat??? What's that then? Ziggi Basically it's a small kayak for rapids etc there was one for sale here on the forum, but you can see them if you do a google "images" search.not sure if you would get any movement other than down wind though?. Quote
KermitStu Posted December 3, 2005 Report Posted December 3, 2005 I'd like to go to this beach and watch the airplanes land, then get out my kite for when the Airbus takes off ... http://www.flightlevel350.com/viewer.php?id=3296 off shore wind Regards Andy] thats amazing what idiots though Quote

The Geoff Posted December 4, 2005 Report Posted December 4, 2005 Planning on trying a Topper dinghy with a kite once the weather warms up a little....should be interesting. Quote
skreamz Posted December 4, 2005 Report Posted December 4, 2005 I want a kite made of material that attracts static electricity from the air and uses it to make the material glow in the dark, the kite lines would pass current to a non-conductive bar that incorporates bar-tip lights to see where you are going and through the safety leash to a lightweight battery and helmet light for packing kit away in the dark. Add a luminous board and kite all night Quote
angus8ken Posted December 7, 2005 Report Posted December 7, 2005 Planning on trying a Topper dinghy with a kite once the weather warms up a little....should be interesting. that sounds way too easy, i want to see you trying it with my moth have tried ultimate landboarding (landboarding with bar and playing frisbee with free hand) Quote
Tweak Posted December 7, 2005 Report Posted December 7, 2005 When its too windy, we get the parcel shelf out of the car and use it as a sail when we are on our landboards. Quote
tallscott Posted December 12, 2005 Report Posted December 12, 2005 has anyone ever got an old kitesurfing board, snowboard or skis and tried to ride it on the beach?? i might have to go round the ski shops and get me some old boards!!! :-D Quote
tallscott Posted December 12, 2005 Report Posted December 12, 2005 or for the sailors amoungst us could you attach the tips of a blade 6.6/4.9 to the top of the mast and the front of the bowsprit on say a Laser 4000. have some lines coming back to the blocks to control angle of attack and brake lines!!! like a twin skinned asym?? Quote
hankster Posted December 19, 2005 Report Posted December 19, 2005 has anyone thought about using a kitewing on these contraptions ie kayaks, rollerblades, kiteboards, landboards etc. Quote
HORLEY_KITE_NUT Posted December 20, 2005 Report Posted December 20, 2005 use a kite with a street luge ( http://www.streetluge.com/ ) LOL Quote
Robabank Posted December 22, 2005 Author Report Posted December 22, 2005 My personal fav has to be an INDOOR kite venue, using a space shuttle sized hanger & a wind tunnel inside .no more gusts,no more cold weather!!just pure fun maybe it will happen one day .. Quote
Pablo Posted December 22, 2005 Report Posted December 22, 2005 Then there's the sneakers with no tread and sopping wet grass, who needs wacky contraptions, Today I was having trouble staying upwind just flying static. I did however master the pendulum jump to 360deg butt skud back to feet. The mrs is not amused at the pile of muddy clothes sitting in the bedroom though. Quote
jon barrand Posted December 22, 2005 Report Posted December 22, 2005 Riot boat - he he! Theres lots and lots of different types! I am a Freestyle kayaker and I have had my Freestyle kayak in the surf with a blade! Not recommended, try it anwyay but there were some flaws; Being strapped into a kayak, flipping over in the surf (Not enough hands to hold a paddle to brace) and having a powered up kite flying along and the lines wpapping around your neck under water! Great fun but, Im more a fan of canculated risk - Not suicide! http://www.canoecafe.co.uk/pictures/albums/userpics/10475/normal_IMGP0971.jpg http://www.yucc.org.uk/jay/hawaii-sur-rhone/nico/734_3458.jpg Quote
bateman Posted December 22, 2005 Report Posted December 22, 2005 i do this in ireland its a fantastic sport an i have tried to do it wiv a kite an it works but only to a certain level ya know Quote

I tried years ago witha Slice and a Sky Tiger, failed miserably but then again wind was a bit light that day. For it to work I think you would need something like a Riot Boogie or similra with evil edges and the option of fitting fins. I was always going to try it with the boat as a C1 as I felt this would give me greater leverage over the edge Quote
jon barrand Posted December 22, 2005 Report Posted December 22, 2005 Yes, Thats Lyon... If I try it again, I think I would as you say use a surf orientated boat, maybe a Rossi. Kite would need to be on two line bar though! C1 - You'd have to be very good, or very confident! Quote
oc1rob Posted December 22, 2005 Report Posted December 22, 2005 C1 - You'd have to be very good, or very confident! Used to be both http://www.rebel0.plus.com/fsc/fcn_images/rob-pw2002-final01.jpg Graz 2002 Preworlds - 3rd :D ..........but gave it up about a year ago due to a shafted knee, Physio seems to have put things back in place though so may take my Venom or Bomba up to HPP and make use of the regata lake at some point in the summer Quote
