lewiss Posted August 25, 2005 Report Posted August 25, 2005 can't beleave this one. the E.U polititions (i think) are trying to ban motorbikes by the year 2020. i can't even imagin how they even expect to get this passed as the posentage of bikers just in the U'K is masive plus i haven't met one man who is against motobikes. it's the same as with powerkites. they see a sport, hobby or interest that is exsiting and they get scared and ban it. it won't get passed, i mean how can it. Jangla Posted August 25, 2005 Report Posted August 25, 2005 Can't see the Italians liking this one It will die a death - it's a stupid idea. banning cars and giving everyone a free motor bike would sort traffic problems out for good. Quote
spooky Posted August 25, 2005 Report Posted August 25, 2005 I'm against motor bikes, but then again you have never met me? Only joking. Personally I woudl not worry as the EU come up with these silly things all the time, they never push them through but need to keep coming up with teh ideas so as to justifie there exsistance? cassiewoofer Posted August 25, 2005 Report Posted August 25, 2005 yep, stupid idea it'll die a death,.... got to! though i wouldn't mind if they banned those tiny little noisy things kids are riding all round the place! Quote
Mal1599968600 Posted August 25, 2005 Report Posted August 25, 2005 Just more bEuro waffle, they come up with this kind of rubbish every so often and it goes nowhere. Remember the 100bhp ban/limit/agreement ? Its hard finding a roadbike that makes less than 100bhp now. Quote
GaRRy Posted August 25, 2005 Report Posted August 25, 2005 Hmm think its MCN getting on the how to sell more papers band wagon. Can you really imagine this getting passed. Hell i haven't owned a motorcycle for 12 years but if they tried to do this id get one and use it on principal. Im sure there is some truth in it but as with all the other ****e see published (to straight bannanas etc) it usually some reporter deliberately reading the worst case scenario into something as reinforcing peoples predjudices is waht sells these days. Does any one remember when papers reported the news rather than trying to create it ? Quote
GaRRy Posted August 25, 2005 Report Posted August 25, 2005 yep, stupid idea it'll die a death,.... got to! though i wouldn't mind if they banned those tiny little noisy things kids are riding all round the place! Now that is down to just not policing them. They are illegal to just ride around in public (unless on road/taxed/insured etc). Can only leagally be used on private land but as with lots of other things Police dont have time to enforce it (Although apprantly local to me they have started confiscating them) Quote
lewiss Posted August 25, 2005 Author Report Posted August 25, 2005 did any one see the moto GP on Sunday? i missed it. was it a good race? did Rossi win? (as usual) Quote
Radnor Posted August 25, 2005 Report Posted August 25, 2005 I dont recall all the details but a young teenager (12-16 ish) in my hometown was bought a minimoto for his birthday. Him and his mates were riding it on the road doing laps of his block but unfortunately he hit a car head on going round a corner. Not a nice way to go but I wouldn't want to be the driver in that situation. Thing is, it's a brilliant sport when you get into it and do it properly, it's just not supposed to be done on the street or in a park. As for banning bikes, can't see it happening. The reason above is exactly why I don't buy MCN anymore, if I want made up news I can do that myself Quote
lewiss Posted August 25, 2005 Author Report Posted August 25, 2005 my bro has a compacted down 125cc four stroke witch we use in a pit near my vilage great fun, but can understand when peopke get enoied with noice. Quote

DIGGY Posted August 25, 2005 Report Posted August 25, 2005 Interested fact I heard yesterday, or not!!!! Motor bikes make up 1% of the traffic on the roads today but motorcyclists account for 20% of all road deaths! Quote
dirty_knees Posted August 25, 2005 Report Posted August 25, 2005 yes diggy **** happens, they may not ban bikes but there still putting a noise restriction on cars and bikes by 2007 which sucks, 76db? i think last week i measured one of the overrun missfires on my bike at 138db i did crap my self but i love noises like that and i think its less annoying that scooty boys and there leo vinci/gianelli systems screaming past at 31.2mph:eek: Quote
Noodle Posted August 25, 2005 Report Posted August 25, 2005 i measured one of the overrun missfires on my bike at 138db i did crap my self but i love noises like that Erm isn't ear breaking/bursting point 140dbs! Quote
dirty_knees Posted August 25, 2005 Report Posted August 25, 2005 dont no about bursting but i no if you stand next to a motogp bike for more than 3 mins your ears will bleed and the make 130ish Quote
