I have been told by my kite dealer that the blades and crossfires and comparable to each other in performance, quality hands down the blade is better, I am going to go fly with him on Saturday and compare, but I think I am buying the Crossfire, (cheeper)http://www.powerkiteforum.com/images/smilies/thumbup.gif

anyone else have any info on this

thanks

I would like to know why the dealer states that in quality terms the Blade is way better than the HQ Crossfire. Blades are good and well made but so are other kites and many of them are now far superior. You will not go wrong with the Crossfire, very nice kite.

far superior in build or as kites?

i have a Blade 3 which is about 2 years old. It has been in all possible conditions and has not really been looked after too much. it has had salt water and sand on it for weeks, has been stored damp, been caught onto trees, bushes and passing cars, been in very intense sun. although it looks old (it is faded) compared to other blades (even blade 1 and 2s that i have seen look older) it still performs perfectly and the build is still perfect. i think the build of these kites in incredible as i have put mine through alot and so far it has not let me down!

As fas as I understood, he meant the material is a better frabric, and will last longer in the blades, but he didnt want say that much about it, till time passes and he see's the long term durability of the Crossfire, he has compared them both and said they handle about the same, he was very impressed with the crossfires performance.

I am sure there other kites out there that are better, but he only sells Beamers, Crossfires, Bullet and blades, Sabers so My selection is limited, and I dont want to buy online, returning can be hassel if I have to, And the Crossfire Is a good price (comparing to online prices)

crossfires are execellent kites . i recently bough a 4.0m and i own blades . i was really surprised -the performance and lift was just as good as any blade--they are just as good ,well built and you get more for your money. groundstake, kite dvd. i would recommend a crossfire to anyone , anytime.

Hi Jules_b

Sorry but i have the full blade2 range & all look great after these years of use & i must point out they are a much more stable & more lift & better fly then the blade3.I would say if your thinking of a blade get a blade2 all the way.

have fun

p.s the blade2 2m is still the number 1 small kite after all these years point taken.

Kitefanatic: I would not get to worried about the quality as both kites will last for many years of flying. The Firebee when it came out was slated by many as being of very poor quality and yet I have used a set of these kites in a kite school for many years with hundereds of hours of flying and crashing and they are still going strong, the same can be said of the Busters we use. Once you fly each back to back you will be able to decide which suits you best.

Well today I bought the crossfrie 6.3, and it is awsome, had a blast with it at Wasaga Beach at the kite festival, had great pull, was draging me all over the place, didnt try jumping with it, little nervous after injuring my heel.

not to impresed with the bag, the bag is way to big, I can pack my beamer 2 and the crossfire together, maybe that is a good thing after all.

and as a bonus, the kite shop let trade the handles to flexifoils and got a second pair for 20 bucks Canadian for my Beamer 2 as well.

But I think now I need A harness my arms are killing me, what a workout.

Actually, after testing a depower system, HQ have decided not to release it, at least for the time being.

I am not sure but it may be possible to fit the Pegas Wingwarp system to them.

As far as comparing the Blade and the Crossfire goes;

Size for size the Crossfires gives similar power and stability to the blade, but it acts in a far less aggressive way. The lift doesn't yank you off your feet but lifts you more gently and floats well. So it is really up to the individual rider what kind of power they like. Build quality is great in both.

When the Blade 3 first came out i had the same oppion as you but after having flown and working out how to fly it right there is no chance what so ever that i would change to a blade 2 its just too slow i have a new 4.9 blade 3 coming soon to compleet my quiver it takes time to get fully dialed in to the blade 3 but once you have its an awsome kite for what i do, i havent yet come across a kite that betters it a few come close but nothing so far has suppased it the blade 2 is a rocking kite but better than the blade 3 i think not.
