when my handles broke, because of the distance, Matt asked for a picture of the broken handles, and a week later I had a new pair in the mail from USA distributor for Flexi, great service. Like others have said, contact Matt At Flexi, but this might get you somewhere as well?, I know they fix kites for flexi, for any US or Canadian customers, they might be able send you a new pair ? Sorry if this sounds stupid for asking, are you saying add 2 inches to the crossover lines. As I am having the same problem, luffs, folds in, wont reverse luanch, I think I have a bridal stretch, it wants to go right all time, I switched my lines around, and it still favors going right. and when I go to land it by pulling the landing line it will go right, and wont come straight down.

there is a kite shop in Mitchell Ontario, that sells Flexi products http://www.tailspinkites.com/, I have the 6.3 Crossfire, its done a good job for jumping I weigh about 180lbs as well, its a little cheaper then the blades, the handles suck, so bought flexi handles and lines for it, so by the time you buy handles and lines for the Crossfire, its perty close to being the same price as blades, I am thinking of selling my Crossfire, I live in Stratford Ontario, about 1.5 hrs away from you, we could meet half way sometime and I will let you try my crossfire to see if its what your looking for.

Maybe i should have stayed in bed today, but the wind was calling, the wind was about 25- 28 kph, started out great, got some good jumps in, then I tried to get my snow board on, and thats when it went down hill from there, the kite wouldnt reverse launch, and its very hard to walk backwards with a snowboard on, then some how the kite twisted itself up perty good, took about 2 hours to untangle it, once I got that sorted out, I went back out, it still wasnt flying right, always going to left, very unstable, always luffing, thats when I saw all the snow inside my kite, (enough to make a miniture snowman) the kite was very heavy, and no thanks to mesh on the leading edge, I was unable to get the snow out, it just balled up, very frustrating:mad: , so now the kite is in my atic for the nite to melt the snow. If this kite was designed for snowboarding, why is it so hard to get snow out, and yes I did try vent outs on the trailing edge, it got very little out. I have had the kite for about 3 weeks now, been out about 8 times with it, most of the time its been a good experience, some days not so good, but this is my first depower kite, so I still have to get used to it, and I have only been flying static with it, have had much luck with the snow board yet. Come spring I am getting a buggy or landboard, So I hoping for a better experience then.

aw yes good times in deed, its not very often that we get winds like this in these parts, but I extend a inventation for the 30 mph winds to come back any time.

:D lets just say the safety gear and kite killers went to good use to today, the winds where crazy here in Canada today, 30 mph with gusts up to 50 mph. the beamer 3.6 was maybe a little over powered, but it was so much fun, I havent had that much fun in a couple months, i was scuding from one end of soccer feild to other end in seconds(wet grass), got some pertty good size jumps with it as well, but of course, the landings where a little hard, knee pads saved my knees a couple of times, had one bad landing, and face planted on one side, had to lay there for a bit a catch my breath, thank good I was wearing a helmet, did a couple of belly slides before I put the Kite killers to use, all in all I had a blast, but my body is feeling it now, could have been a lot worse, but I felt safe doing it. I am still have a big grin on my face just thinking about this afternoon. I LOVE THIS ACTIVITY:D

Well today while I was testing a 9.5 Sabre, Dave from the kiteshop also brought out a 5 metre HQ montana depowerable, as he has it as a demo from HQ for 2 weeks. The wind wasnt the greatest, maybe 10 kph to 15 kph, but for its size I could feel the power penitential launching upside down wasnt the greatest launching did ok, just pulled the lines and up it went it had 4 different settings on the middle lines to adjust power according to how windy it was, found this to be inconvenient, compared to the sabre quality between the Montana and Sabre, obliviously the Sabre hands down, the Montana just looked cheaper in design the safety release on the Montana was ok, but after some wear & tear, I wouldnt want to be air born with it, it may slide down by it self, just from flying it, it slide half way down on me I am not used to depower, but after flying the Sabre (by the way, was an awsome experience) I found the Montana a little less stable and more twitchy to keep it going. I found I liked flying better on a depowerable bar, I guess that includes I liked the depowerable kite as well, I favor the Sabre much much more, I only wish I had $1000.00 bucks Canadian, he has the Sabres on sale $400.00 off on all sizes untill November 15 2005. I wish it was more windy to really see what the Sabre could do for me.

The local kite shop has 9.5 sabre as a demo for $1000.00 Canadian, about $480.00 Pounds I haven't heard a lot about the sabre's, does any one have any info/advice for me, is this a good price as its seems to be, his listed price is $1400.00 Cad. I am going to try it out later this week. does this kite have good lift ? is it floaty ? does it have a good wind range ? will this kite be good for kite surfing (relaunchable) ? I will be using it for static jumping, but later hope to get a buggy and as a plus he is going to list my 6.3 crossfire for sale on his site, he gets quite a few requests for used kites, so hopely someone will buy it. thanks for any help/advice you can offer

videos look good, but you might want to find a better hosting site, have to wait 15 seconds before downloading, only can download 1 at a time, can only download so many bytes per hour, unless sign up and pay not a very user friendly site, took me a while to figure out how to download, I thought you where spaming that web site at first. but once again looked like you where having a good time -

um those links did not work for me, some rapid share web site poped up, it says it a premium zone (privileged area) in the top left corner I click on some links and its wants me to sign in, and if I want to downlaod a video I have to pay to subscribe??? this looks a little like spam to me, but maybe I am wrong. -
his jumps look sooooooooooooo floaty it looks so fun, i cant wait to try snow kiting this year, the kite from air evolution is about $1400 Canadian for a 15 metre and thats on sale, but if you get that much float from it, it would be worth the money, I wounder what it would be like to static fly that kite, I would think you would need a very big field, once you got lifted you would be up there for a while. or it might just put you in the hospital?

If you though was big air check this video out its called Please, don't do that IV !!!! http://www.semnozkitesurfing.com/data_htm/pages_galerie/page_galerie_videos.htm# this looks awsome, I think the kite used is the hybrid core by air evolution http://www.airevolution-snowkite.com/shop/product_info.php?products_id=34&osCsid=6221ff2670478d2846cde3680b3c95bd

I have a bunch a videos that I downloaded from the net, many of you might have seen them, or some of them might have you in them. all I did was take all the good footage, and edit them into one video, they are about 4 minutes long I hope I didnt offend anyone by doing this, and would like to thank these guys for there time and effort for posting these video's These video's are not of me, they are downloaded and I have no idea who these people are, but. I really enjoyed watching them, hope you do too This was my first time making video's http://www.powerkiters.co.uk/g1/gallery/albums/Jumping01/Crazy_jumps.wmv http://www.powerkiters.co.uk/g1/gallery/albums/Jumping01/Free_Style_Jumping.wmv http://www.powerkiters.co.uk/g1/gallery/albums/Buggying/Buggy_Jumping.wmv I forget where I got this one, but well worth a look http://www.powerkiters.co.uk/g1/gallery/albums/kitesurfing/Kite_Energy.wmv

they started out at 25 metre, I am guessing they are about 70 feet now, they are just a little longer then my beamer 3.6 set witch is 65 feet long

After much Stretching and resleeving my HQ 6.3 crossfire lines two times , I bought 40 metre flexi lines (500lb / 330lb) today, and I will have the HQ lines as backups or if flying space in an issue. After putting the new line on, I took her up for a test flight, winds where about 12 - 15 kph, and I noticed a bit of a change, First it flies a hell of a lot better with even lines, more stable, Second it seemed to have more lift and pull for what the wind speed was. If your lines are longer, does this give you more lift and pull ? is it because the kite is higher, you have less obstuuctions blocking the wind ? Also my replacement flexi handles came today, they sent the 05 model (grey) plus they threw in a couple of stickers, excelent and fast service from Flexifoil. as it only took less then a week for them to replace them. I sent them pics last Thursday.

someone just do a direct comparison! PLEASE!
KiteFanatic replied to IKnowICanSoar's topic in General Kiting
I have the HQ crossfire 6.3, If you want air I find I need 25 kph plus to get any good size jumps, this was my second kite, and I havent hurt myself to bad yet with it, just a couple of bruises on my feet from landing wrong, this kite I find is a lot better at the beach, maybe because I am willing to be a little less carefull with it (landings on sand) Any ways, if you can try before you buy, go for it. If you do buy the crossfire, get different handles for it, cause from experience HQ handles suck, I have flexi handles, but there are others out there as well. I have had flexi handles break on me, but I find them very comfortable -
Well I hope they dont break, if they do then I guess I might try something different, untill then I can only hope for the best
-
Yep Flexi Service is great, I too Broke a handle, right where the rope goes through the top of the handle, sent them a pic, and handles are in the mail. Hopefully this is not an ongoing thing ?
-
Well I got an email from Matt the other day, and he said Quote" Hi Brian Thanks for your email. I’m really sorry to hear that you have had a problem with you handles. Flexifoil have a very simple policy with regards to handles that break, we replace them free of charge! Due to the distance involved, can you take a photo of the broken handles? From this photo, I will be able to dispatch your replacement handles. Kind regards Matt Ferris Consumer Marketing Executive So I sent him some pics of the handles, So I guess I will be getting some new handles in the mail soon. very good custumer service at flexi

£150 = $311 Canadian so if you factor in the over seas shipping, looks like a good deal, plus it might be a rare kite to have in Canada, I couldnt find a Canadian seller, there are 2 online shops in the U.S. that sell benson kites the one I am buying does not come with lines or handles, but that is ok I have 2 extra sets anyways I am buying it tommorow, hope there is wind after work
