Mell1599968579 Posted May 31, 2005 Report Posted May 31, 2005 Toilets!!!!!! I am sorry about the state of the toilets. We had organised and paid for an attendent to be on site throughout the weekend. They subbed out the job and did not tell the suppliers. After a few angry phonecalls from Mike we managed to get them emptied early each morning. The original company will be getting a rollocking and no further business from us!! Skips There were three skips but due to cars surrounding one only two were used. We will try and get skips emptied during the event next time to alleviate the rubbish problem. Dogs!! This was an issue especially when the gate were allowing dogs in and charging them as children:eek: . This was addressed immediatley when it was bought to our attention and apologies go to those who were unable to attend who had dogs. The dogs issue arose as it was stricken from the liecense issued to us ten days before the event. Quote
littlemisssammy Posted May 31, 2005 Report Posted May 31, 2005 Toilets were PALACIAL!!! (If thats how you spell it!) Compared to Glastonbury where you couldnt tell the S***T from the Mud!!! I couldnt believe there was still toilet roll on Sunday!!! FAB! Quote
Blade nut Posted May 31, 2005 Report Posted May 31, 2005 the toilets were in decent nick, not as good as last year, but still usable (by guys anyway ) MBN; forgot toilet roll...again Quote
Adrena1in Posted May 31, 2005 Report Posted May 31, 2005 My toilet was 5 miles away, and perfectly clean. So was my dog, poor little chap! Quote
tiny_clanger Posted May 31, 2005 Report Posted May 31, 2005 I thought the loos were fine! Aside from the mirrors on the door - got a right shock on sunday morning when I went to the loo and looked up and saw my poor windburned face - looking like something out of star trek! I didnt like the skips though, the doors were really heavy and difficult to use. Oh and next time, can the beer tent have a dance area?? (and a free pint for those who couldnt play the maltesers game!!) Quote
Zotty Posted May 31, 2005 Report Posted May 31, 2005 no Apologies needed dude.. fab event!! best ever!! very proud to have been a part of it.. big thanks from me/jelly/blubs/beaker/jules/doofus/ and barry n lynn (my mom n dad) Quote
doz smith Posted May 31, 2005 Report Posted May 31, 2005 I didnt like the skips though, the doors were really heavy and difficult to use. i would have opened it for you i did for a load of other people:rolleyes: ps bogs were fine, still went to town for a short while of reflection on the event, but hey i thought that is what sunday was for, to see the local attractions. Quote
Jangla Posted May 31, 2005 Report Posted May 31, 2005 well despite the issues, the toilets were fine mell - could have done with more toilet paper at the end but if you're sensible you bring your own. Put it this way, I've been in a LOT worse the only issue I had was the sudden lager shortage, but again, fair play to sorting that one out and fair play to the bar for maintaining a sensible pricing policy - cans at only 10p more than a large tea? bargain! organisation as a whole I thought was excellent - I've been to far more expensive events that are really poor on providing a proper, friendly service like you guys did. you all (including all the extra volunteers) deserve a major pat on the back. Quote
Tim186 Posted May 31, 2005 Report Posted May 31, 2005 only used the toilets once on the weekend to take a number 2:o and made good use of a hedge near our tent for number 1's:rolleyes: , but some dirty sod decided he would take a dump there:mad: . The only complaint really about the toilets was that they were so far away, we were down at the end of the camp site and the toilets were near the beer tent:( . Quote
coupe-se Posted May 31, 2005 Report Posted May 31, 2005 The toilets got a little 'gamey' at times but they could'nt have been that bad as the missus did'nt moan too much about them!! It certainly did'nt make any difference to what was a FANTASTIC weekend Quote
Filovirus Posted May 31, 2005 Report Posted May 31, 2005 the mirrors scared the sh1t out of me on a few ocasions too... but it was cool.. i like shouting at random strangers in those things... although hearing the results of undercooked and bad food or the straining sounds of those who ate too much meat was a little much.. threw me off my stride.. bonus points to Buggy Kid (aka Greg the Chef) for being blazen about it.. walking up bog roll in hand and a copy of power kite magazine.. he came back about 20 minutes later.. 9lbs lighter.. and 3 long articles read.. !! Mell.. I loved it.. thanks... now.. Ready to start taking Crap about FW2..?? Quote

Morb Posted May 31, 2005 Report Posted May 31, 2005 No apologies neccessary Mell, the only thing wrong was the lack of wind on Sunday! (and as far as i know, that had nowt to do with you!) cheers. Quote
mind_my_pants Posted May 31, 2005 Report Posted May 31, 2005 Yes the toilets were worse than last year ... but hey if you just took a deep breath and were quick it wasnt so bad ..like many have said been in far far worse! Totally agree with TC though those mirrors were very sacry! Please can you get loos without next time ...I really dont look to good with wind burn and the after effects of too many beers and too little sleep Was an absoloutly EXCELLENT weekend ... have not had so much fun in ages, have been hugged and squeezed so many times my ribs are sore ..but so good to see old friends and make a few new ones too Thanks Mell x Quote
muffy Posted May 31, 2005 Report Posted May 31, 2005 We managed to get 9 people in one toilet on Saturday night! Quote
Blade nut Posted May 31, 2005 Report Posted May 31, 2005 i don't even want to knwo MBN; goes ewww Quote
Andy S Posted May 31, 2005 Report Posted May 31, 2005 have been hugged and squeezed so many times my ribs are soreDidn't hear you complaining ..but so good to see old friendsHey... less of the old please... some of us are younger than you you know... Quote
Wicked Witch Posted June 1, 2005 Report Posted June 1, 2005 Mell, why are you appologising about the toilets? If people fill the sinks with cigarette butts and toast then they can't moan. Maybe the occupants of the loos should do their bit to help keep them clean Quote
the_lone_wolf Posted June 1, 2005 Report Posted June 1, 2005 We managed to get 9 people in one toilet on Saturday night! WOW!!! all together or one at a time? Quote
Plugus Maximus Posted June 1, 2005 Report Posted June 1, 2005 I blame the people having barbeque poos. Some people eat just too much meat IMHO! It's the verticle slits at the top that scare me. OK I'm lanky but an equally lanky person in an adjacent bog happened to also be looking at the slits. Our eyes met. THAT SHOULD NEVER BE ABLE TO HAPPEN! I nearly lost control. I suppose the glasto style long drop bogs are out of the question compared to the chemical bogs? K Quote

Only being a short ass that prob. didnt occur. I should suggest EYES FORWARD. Bogs werent too bad but I saved the No. 2 for home and only popped in for a wazz. I just told the Mrs. to give it a minute or two when I got back. Not impressed:D So are dogs ok next time??? Quote
Zarudi Posted June 1, 2005 Report Posted June 1, 2005 for a first timer at wallop i was really impressed by the way the whole event was arranged. having toilets emptied and restocked with roll everyday was great(no apologies necessary) and the emergency lager was inspired. great to meet and fly with loads of new people too. Good Job Quote
xdavemarshallx Posted June 1, 2005 Report Posted June 1, 2005 Mell, I think your apology has been well taken, but there really was no need. TBH I was quite impressed with the toilets compared to what I have used in the past!! With all the effort that has been put into the organisation of Wallop, who gives a damn about a toilet that is not 100% clean? They did the job!! If you wanted a shower, sink and bath, stay in a hotel!! Top notch job to all the organisers with exception of the ejit who decided that ringtones involving frogs make good songs that should be played every 2 minutes!! GRRRRRRRRR Dave Quote
daveswan Posted June 1, 2005 Report Posted June 1, 2005 You bunch of wincing wosses! I had a wonderful day Saturday used the toilets a couple of times during the day never found anything other than what you would expect to find When I returned on the Sunday the toilets were sparkling I would like to say Thank you to every one who made it possible and please make it happen again soon please Quote
