Akis says that you have to go through pain to really get those improvements appearing. Spin it as fast as you can for as long as you can and get those muscles screaming, then 20 minutes later try again and you'll be surprised.

And Calum...you're 89th now.

Hi there I left my power ball with sand-yeti when I was over there must admit I am missing it. Have you heard anything of "Hampshire lass"?
Might go to Crabree this Thursday evening...I'll bring mine with me!

And no, not heard from her for ages. Will have to give her a shout and see if she's going to be at Wallop.

Don't worry Chivalry, anything hit around 13,400 revs with his Neon Powerball, and when he got a 250Hz he upped his score to nearly 13,800.

I would be interested to see what speed Akis could squeeze out of a Neon.

And one more thing...how many LEDs has your new Neon got? Is it from Powerballs.com, or Power-balls.com?? Mine was from the latter, and had 4 LEDs. Powerballs.com apparently do a much bright 6-LED version.

...what were u using to get the 3rd powerball up to 5483??? :o
:D

You misunderstand. As well as the maximum RPM mode, the counters, (the newer ones anyway), have a "Strength Index" setting, indicated by an image of an arm, with three timers...30 seconds, 60 seconds and 90 seconds. In this mode, as soon as you start spinning the ball, the counter times down to zero and counts the revolutions of the wheel.

Us lot here had a bit of a competition to see who could get the highest scores. The wheel has to be stationery at the start, and you can use the string to start it. It's a good idea to have a stopwatch or something for the 60 and 90 second modes, because it's not easy to check the display while you're using it and there's no indication from the timer of when it stops.

My three scores are the scores I managed...no-one else came close really! ;)

Don't laugh...I did once wonder how many I could get going at once! Two's easy...I could actually manage four, because I've done two in one hand, (though it was difficult to get a good grip, so once I have two going I'd have to have someone else put the next two in my other hand!).

Then I thought about strapping them to my ankles, or knees. Powerballs are great for working the arms, as is kiting, so my arms and upper body are quite fit, but my legs aren't. I reckon one strapped to each ankle, one to each knee, one in each hand and one on top of the head...that would look pretty funny.

As for the one from Play.com, that's probably a Power-balls.com one. Same as the Powerballs.com ones really I think. I had one, but sold it.

92nd in the top 100 now Calum. Only 70 rpm above 100th. Come on, where's your 14 effort??

im doing my best, but ive hit a big wall

to get to the endurance mode, press the function button untill you see an arm

nutcase; Some Powerballs only have a 30-second endurance mode. If you press the function button until the arm appears, and the display says '0', then as soon as you start it spinning it'll count 30 seconds and tot up all the revs in those 30 seconds. If the display says '30', then press on/clear and it'll say '60'. Press on/clear again and it'll say '90'. Start it spinning then and it'll count 30, 60 or 90 seconds and display the total revs at the end.

Basically, keeping the Powerball going almost as fast as you can, for as long as you can, builds the muscles up really well and often helps you improve you scores massively.

The walls do get bigger and tougher...you were right. I've not had a top-RPM session for a few weeks now. Did some endurance last night, and wasn't on bad form as such, but nowhere near good enough to do more than about 12.5k. (Did a lot of home decoration Saturday, then was out late in the evening, up early for more painting, then to the beach for a few hours, so I was too knackered. Perhaps this evening, if I don't get out.)

Over 11,000 within a couple of days is pretty good. Some people seem to get it straight away. Tone, on one of his first attempts, did 12,100. Then apparently he did 13,500 not long after, but then wasn't able to get over 11,000. Didn't see proof of his 13.5k though.

I think it took me a week or so to reach 11k. Month or two to reach 12k. Five or six months to reach 13k. Aiming for 14k by the end of this year.
