SuperIdiot
Anyone tryed this/or willin too give it a go for charity?
andylyon87
I'd do it for charity, but you'd have to have a kite bag for all wind conditions and a lot of support as when the winds changed youd need someone to pass you a smaller or larger kite:eek:
SuperIdiot
Yeah never thought of that, still be possible though. or yuo could fly in groups so you swap round to eat sleep drink an other stuff.
kitestuff
Sounds fun, but think you would have to do it in rotations so you could break. But would be cool to do...
SuperIdiot
wel if we can get enough of us willing to do it then we ask every so nicly to one of the large name brands ( hint hint flexi admin) to back us up on it.

ajkiwi88
but if everyone was to fly like an imp or a stacker 6 or somat small like that then there arms wouldn't ache so the people could fly all day and night with just water and sandwhiches which would be easy if the kites were on a bar cyaz aj

madcow
Good idea. Any time after August-although longer days would be better, I guess. And a good venue.

powerfly
maybe a 3m-4m would be good as in strong winds thee managable and they can fly in 5mph+
SuperIdiot
A decent venue wud be priority to find, westlands air field is large enough to get a few kite up on der, apperently ppl ave bin flyin on it but who i dont no. In the winter you are more likely to have gd wind but the summer is warmer, longer days an it is better weather.
mee
We thought about doing something similar for comic relief in March next year, either 12 or 24 hours. We also have a site. We also had planned a second event which was a sponsored buggy run. The idea was very simple, to see if a group of flyers could do a course in a buggy flying a variet of kites over 12 hrs keeping the kites of the ground. Just some ideas. powerfly
because its a charity event we could see if we could use middle wallop air field
andylyon87
you could do it with sports kites as they are dead stable and hardly pull, thaen again screw that wheres the fun. I'd have to wear a harness. I also agree with a previous point that you can't always fly imps as they are high wind kites really:)

SuperIdiot
i wud where my harness. how can you find out about middle wallop, who do you need to contact?
Henry Primett
with alot of caffine id do the whole 24 hours my self if the kite was small so i had the energy. well i probably wouldnt b able to do it but i would do it for as long as i possibly could
mee
We fly in a space that is only a few miles from Middle Wallop and is very similar in size and very good ground quality. I am sure running a charity event in this space would not present any problems at all.
ChrisF
any way of suggesting it to happen AT the normal MW dates??? then there would be no problem with permission etc???? it could be held as a seperate event... during the weekends. then ideas will have to be placed on how sponsorship will work.... great idea tho.. count me in
