Luke Posted August 7, 2007 Report Posted August 7, 2007 What is an acceptable amount of time to wait for kites to come in to stores, or from overseas once you have ordered one? Horror stories, happy endings and everything in between welcome.
schmik Posted August 7, 2007 Report Posted August 7, 2007 Once flysurfer sent me a bunch of lines and other doo-dads direct from Germany. Ordered on monday, in my hands on thursday. Sure as shit surprised me! Another time (not at band camp).... i got a mate to buy me a kite in the USA. He surface shipped it to me. I waited 3months. Yet another time I paid for a 2nd hand kite from QLD. Two weeks later nothing. Two more weeks later the seller tells me the courier company somehow killed that package. Another two weeks later I got my money back. I know they are not about kite stores but stories none the less. BTW, you'd have it by now if you hadn't have ordered a pink one mike
sinbad Posted August 7, 2007 Report Posted August 7, 2007 When you order the kite get them to tell you how long it will take, if its not in stock. What happens is the shop waits till it gets a few orders, before processioning on the distributor or overseas company. Which sucks if they don't tell you that. Also another problem is the supplier has run out of stock to and is waiting for the factory to supply more or they get some back from over stocked distributors. But to be honest i would not wait more then a month for a current model kite, to come from O/S supplier, thats basically 1 week ex factory 2 weeks freight and custom clearance and a extra week for stuffing around on Australia post. Somebody will be on here soon and blast me for that , The company i work for imports from company's all over Europe and the UK. Most times i find i get things quicker from the UK then i do from Sydney. but 4 weeks is acceptable if there in stock O/S.
schmik Posted August 7, 2007 Report Posted August 7, 2007 Funny picture time eh! He is a picture of the Ozone vision i was going to buy. hahaha Dude... ozone are going to form a mob (with pitchforks and all) and string us by our own kite lines from the nearest tree. mike
Luke Posted August 7, 2007 Author Report Posted August 7, 2007 no i think everybody should get there shit together personally. Im getting over it real quick and going to pull a paris on somebodys asses pretty soon. Im a customer... supply and demand...... no its the other way round DEMAND..... and supply! cheers they are stunting my airtime severly now, and I do not like being on the ground at all. Baggsy Posted August 7, 2007 Report Posted August 7, 2007 well what was the time frame given to you rocket? or were you supposed to wait till the new one is released... sinbad is correct in saying 4 weeks is exceptable from shop floor to your door. i have waited 6 weeks for one to be made first .. tell me what color is it ?
sinbad Posted August 7, 2007 Report Posted August 7, 2007 Elton john was maybe telling you something. rocket or them having a lend of you. Music by elton john Lyrics by bernie taupin Available on the album honky château She packed my bags last night pre-flight Zero hour nine a.m. And i'm gonna be high as a kite by then I miss the earth so much i miss my wife It's lonely out in space On such a timeless flight And i think it's gonna be a long long time Till touch down brings me round again to find I'm not the man they think i am at home Oh no no no i'm a rocket man Rocket man burning out his fuse up here alone Mars ain't the kind of place to raise your kids In fact it's cold as hell And there's no one there to raise them if you did And all this science i don't understand It's just my job five days a week A rocket man, a rocket man And i think it's gonna be a long long time...

Jon Posted August 7, 2007 Report Posted August 7, 2007 When a kite is ordered from us we send the kite straight away it is not delayed. We will dispatch the order on the day or the day after if the post has been missed. UNLESS the kite is not in stock and then we will tell the customer that as the kite is coming from overseas, it is out of our control and we give an estimated time for delivery. This can sometimes change due to circumstances out of our controll and then we rely on the patience of the customer! After it is your choice to live on this big remote island!! P.S. nice photos......
sinbad Posted August 7, 2007 Report Posted August 7, 2007 i have a great imagination Well you have nothing else to do, Its not as if you can go out and fly a kite
kneebuster Posted August 7, 2007 Report Posted August 7, 2007 what your buggy like sinbad (sorry rocket)
