Hi guys

I know the strike is a pretty new kite, but was wondering if anyone who has flow on one of them could give me some size advice.

I've been riding an 16m X2 for the past year - and didn't really enjoy it. When performing new tricks, and dropping the x2, it was such a blodoy hassel to get it off the water again. So i'm opting for something a little easier to fly, and hopefully way more fun.

I see that the strike's sizes don't go to the 'way big 22's that the naish kites go to. Is this just because it's new on the market and will get to those bigger kites later, or are they rated on a different size altogether.

The 16m was big and i didn't fly it much over 24kts. I've quite heavy (90kgs) so was wondering what size would be similar in the strike. Most reviews i've read seem to have been guys flying them on slightly smaller kites. (7, 11)

Having just come over from Australia, i'm also not too sure what the summer months hold wind strength wise. Would it be better to go for a larger kite in the summer months ???

Any help would be appreciated?

Regards

Giles

ive been flying the 17m and as this is as big as they go, im 13 and a bit stone riding a 120 x 39 custom and im out in about 10-12mph iether just keeping upwind or going slighty downwind popping all my tricks,

my experience is so far that the kite turns super quick for its size, which i put down to the battens they are a bit big ! but do there job well,

also grunty but very depowerable ive held it upto 22mph so far on the wind gage

but i was right on the limit,

my friends on slingsluts o4's and this is a very similar kite but i find the strike redirects quicker once airborne, and as the struts are individual you can get more preassure in them and i found it to be less jelly like than the sling

personally i dont think theres much point in going out unless it is blowing at least 12mph anyway this is where kiting starts for me

i know people want to go out earlier but whats the fun factor ?

however for the larger gentlmen amongst us i agree 20m + is an option

but they only use it in the same wind range as me,

i have heard there is goin to be an 18.5 storm3 so that might be a better option ?

i have also just purchased a 13m and as soon as we have wind i'll let you know what i think,

so far im loving this kite and have found evreything said about the smaller versions to be true of 17m :) :D ride on ..........

not flown one myself but one of our local fyers has a 15 mtr and although slightly lighter than me (73kG) is out when i am on my 20mtr flat free air and still out when i change down to my 15 mtr free air.the kite appears to be very powerfull for its size and has a huge wind range, maybe because it turns so well.

oh winds throughout last summer were so lacking that my most used kites were in the range of 20mtr+ ie 16.4 airblast (22.5 flat) so i would go huge

i no longer travel to cornwall for the summer due to lack of consistant wind there, north wales area usually better.

That's not strictly two words..... more like one word and one number ;)

Going to give the paddling pools a try first dude. Have an open mind to trying foils in future though.

15m Rasta on order

Cheers Bob.
