Spook Posted August 11, 2004 Report Posted August 11, 2004 Damn you people. Why you gotta go when I'm busy. I spose if I'm quick then I could get down there for 8.30 at the earliest, but then I gotta ask myself if it's worth it. You have fun "entertaining" last night Tim? Quote

Spook Posted August 13, 2004 Report Posted August 13, 2004 OK, went down to Hill Head with Cap'n Goodvibes and Songalolo1 and it was blowing 30mph!! We had a 3.5m bullet up for a short period of time and did some rather large jumps, but then put it away cos it was too much like hard work. Then we headed inland, where we found some nice sunshine, and guess what, not enough wind to even keep the 8.5 in the air. The other guys then went home, while I headed back down to Hill Head again and met up with Ollie again. Flew the Stackers for a bit and did some other stuff, including helping with the guy who decided he didn't like the bones in his leg being in one piece and thought he'd seperate them slightly. Major fracture the ambulance guys reckoned..... Quote
kiting mad Posted August 14, 2004 Author Report Posted August 14, 2004 dont like hill head owell im going to spain and takin my 7 Quote
Adrena1in Posted August 17, 2004 Report Posted August 17, 2004 Was a bit wet at Port Solent yesterday evening. Got rained on a couple of times, and wind was changing from around 4 mph to 13 mph perhaps, though not too gusty. Managed to finally break 20 mph on my Dirtsurfer, with a 23.3 mph run, but with the limited space I had to slow down pretty quick...still can't turn to toe-side! Spook had a go and got it pretty much first time, but then a bit of rain and a drop in the wind meant he wasn't able to get back, so walked. Looks like most evenings this week are going to be wet, (though it's nice out as I write this, so you never know). Quote
Woody1599968629 Posted February 10, 2005 Report Posted February 10, 2005 This thread seems a bit old but I'll post on here anyway... Right coming down to Portsmouth this weekend, probably flying at Port Solent on Saturday. Anyone else going to be around??? Would be good to meet some of you local fliers. Quote
scotty7367 Posted February 10, 2005 Report Posted February 10, 2005 at last some local people. I`m in Havant and none of my friends fly so i`m all alone when i fly. Quote
Spook Posted February 11, 2005 Report Posted February 11, 2005 Where do you fly though Scott? We usually fly at Port Solent and if the weather's good there's usually someone there. Quote
RedWineRacer Posted October 16, 2007 Report Posted October 16, 2007 Sad news. See this thread http://community.flexifoil.com/showthread.php?t=130743 Quote
Corvinus Posted March 25, 2008 Report Posted March 25, 2008 Hello portsmouth, i recently ventured from port solent (my regular spot) to southsea common at the easter weekend. was well worth it, a great place. All i need now is to find free car parking nearby. Its such a great place when wind is directly on or offshore, huge speed runs, reached just over 29mph on the board with 5m on sunday morning! If your ever there, im the guy with pansh aces, and black/red full face helmet. Come over and say hi Quote
martin Posted March 25, 2008 Report Posted March 25, 2008 I saw you. I was walking along the front with the family. There's 3 hours free parking along Western Parade. It's in front of the large white appartments building, down the end where the kiddies play park is. I was quite amazed the Ace flew when wet, it must have been soaking. You had the whole green to yourself apart from an LEI down the far end but he didn't last long. Quote
Corvinus Posted April 8, 2008 Report Posted April 8, 2008 Hi Martin Good to hear from you, you should have come over and said hi! or were you being sensible and getting out of the rain? I cant remember which day that was now, was it wet cos of the snow, or the rain? Two weekends of fun anyway The ace can fly when wet, just sits far lower in the window, dries out quickly though. The common is my new haunt now, much larger for speed runs (top seed now upto 29mph on the board), and the path is great for building up tension for snappy jumps. Still struggling to get higher then 4ft off the floor unless from the odd gust. Seriously considering a large depowerable now, peter lynn or ozone. Ill be there, might try and demo some kit from the local kiteshop. Any info on the free parking would be duely noted, im not sure of where the western parade is. You should come down mate, im sure ill be there this weekend to all there!, come and say hi! Winds look steady 15-20mph for the day and sun looks like itll be shining, sounds great but its 4 days away so anything could change! See you there Quote
Spook Posted April 8, 2008 Report Posted April 8, 2008 Just be careful, especially doing speed runs. As the Common gets busier you won't be able to use it. Remember kiting's not really allowed on there Quote
Corvinus Posted April 9, 2008 Report Posted April 9, 2008 Dont worry Spook ive always kept a wide berth from other users on the field, unless they are kiters of course Wish the same could be said of a few other there with ther larger LEI's, also a funny large ozone depowerable got whipped up and into a tree a few weeks ago Quote
