Spook Posted April 11, 2004 Report Posted April 11, 2004 I only got a 4m Bronto so it'll go up but it won't do huge amounts. Quote
Spudley Posted April 11, 2004 Report Posted April 11, 2004 wittering still as elitist as it was in the 90's with regards to windsurfers? Quote
Adrena1in Posted April 12, 2004 Report Posted April 12, 2004 5 mph...is that all? I was planning on going down to Wittering, but might not bother now. Still, you managed about a 15 foot jump with the 7 metre Buster in these sorts of winds, didn't you, so I wouldn't mind checking that out. EDIT: MetCheck says 2mph. Forget it. Quote
Spook Posted April 12, 2004 Report Posted April 12, 2004 There's less wind out there today than........(insert daft comparison) Quote

Oh yeah, I've just re-read that other post, and made a mistake, sorry. 5 mph would have me scudding with my 12.5 Warrior, and moving on my board quite nicely, but more wind would be a lot more fun. Next weekend perhaps. Quote
kiting mad Posted April 12, 2004 Author Report Posted April 12, 2004 yeah cool not going to witters going to butser hill ! Quote
Spook Posted April 12, 2004 Report Posted April 12, 2004 Is there wind there? I can't find any anywhere... Quote
Adrena1in Posted April 12, 2004 Report Posted April 12, 2004 Well, I went to Witters for around 10:30am, and there was actually some good on-shore wind...but about 1000 tourists, mainly comprising parents and toddlers, so no kiting to be had. Then I went up Butser and there was hardly any wind, and it was blowing from the north. Bizarre...the two sites aren't really THAT far apart, but the wind was completely different at each site. Oh yeah, Butser was teeming with people too. Darn Muggles!! Quote
Spook Posted April 12, 2004 Report Posted April 12, 2004 Did you fly up at butser? I was there between around 1.45 and 4.15 but there wasn't many people flying anything proper... Quote
kiting mad Posted April 13, 2004 Author Report Posted April 13, 2004 i was gona go up but i got grounded so Quote
Spook Posted April 13, 2004 Report Posted April 13, 2004 i was gona go up but i got grounded so LMAO!! Quote
Adrena1in Posted April 13, 2004 Report Posted April 13, 2004 Did you fly up at butser? I was there between around 1.45 and 4.15 but there wasn't many people flying anything proper... I was there during that time, but didn't fly as there wasn't any wind. Well, there was a few mph coming from the north, (which was very weird because it was coming from the south at the beach!), but it was horrible wind, and when it's directly from the north there isn't really a decent place to fly. Quote
Spook Posted April 13, 2004 Report Posted April 13, 2004 Did you not see my flying my red Bronto or pink Stacker over the far side of the mast? The wind wasn't too bad so long as you kept away from the trees... Quote
