junior kiter Posted February 19, 2004 Report Posted February 19, 2004 i have a wierd method for getting rid of kites, go to a scrap yard, get some old rpe and an iron bar, use the iron bar as a contol bar and the rope obviously as a rope, find a lake, get air over the lake, let go, kite fly's off, you don't have to worry about it, it's gone! one tip, not near electricty, a road or anything like that, i use a quad when i do this hinch 1 Quote
anything Posted February 19, 2004 Report Posted February 19, 2004 wouldn't it be better to sell your unwanted kites so you could fund more kites etc Quote
Tim186 Posted February 19, 2004 Report Posted February 19, 2004 what kites do you fly ? bin liners? bed sheets? plastic bags? the only reason i ask is because who would be stupid enough to do this unless you have got money to throw away. otherwise i would say your lying Quote
junior kiter Posted February 19, 2004 Author Report Posted February 19, 2004 yeh but if i want to get rid of it, it's that crap no-one else is going to buy it, i riden the pits, normally the reason why i get rid of them is because i've already got myself a new one, no need to fund, have a bit of last minute fun, + most of my new kites are presents from parents, bit embaressed to admit but they are anything 1 Quote
junior kiter Posted February 19, 2004 Author Report Posted February 19, 2004 if they're gifts whats the point in funding them rasga 1 Quote
Tim186 Posted February 19, 2004 Report Posted February 19, 2004 sounds like you have no concept of money, not to mention that you could get the money so that you could spend it on something else maybe not kites but something else. Quote
junior kiter Posted February 19, 2004 Author Report Posted February 19, 2004 probably i'm just a bit thick Quote
Airborne1599968603 Posted February 19, 2004 Report Posted February 19, 2004 Not thick at all - in fact you sound like a really nice bloke. Before you bin that 8.5 BIII give me a bell - I'll come and collect it, saves you the hassle of a trip to the scrapyard. Quote
PHLI72 Posted February 19, 2004 Report Posted February 19, 2004 Ever heard the saying, "One mans muck is another mans brass" Old kites may be no more use to you, but they could be used by someone else new to this game without the huge amounts of cash that is usualy needed when starting out. Sell your old gear and do some newbies a big favour PHLI72 Quote
junior kiter Posted February 19, 2004 Author Report Posted February 19, 2004 may do to be honest i've three reasons why i do this, 1) fun 2) new ones as gifts 3) inherited quite a bit of money about 6 years ago when i was 16 from grandmother, told me to spend it on anything fun, so i spend it on this, so old kites no needto sell, but still, see if i can get some of my mates at uni to start kiteing Quote
Flexifan Posted February 19, 2004 Report Posted February 19, 2004 why don't u just give the kites away if you don't have any problems with wasting money? Quote
junior kiter Posted February 19, 2004 Author Report Posted February 19, 2004 face it, would you rather have a last minute of fun or give them away, and i said in my last post i might try to get some of my mates at uni interested Quote
fox 2 Posted February 19, 2004 Report Posted February 19, 2004 what about the iron bar? that's gonna hurt if it hits someone! and do u not care where the kite lands? Quote
junior kiter Posted February 19, 2004 Author Report Posted February 19, 2004 student no more to say Quote
fox 2 Posted February 19, 2004 Report Posted February 19, 2004 student no more to say are you saying that about yourself? which ever way you are, its irresponsible Quote
Craig1973 Posted February 19, 2004 Report Posted February 19, 2004 Sell them and spend the money on whores. Much more enjoyable . Quote

Flexifan Posted February 20, 2004 Report Posted February 20, 2004 i'd rather let some other people benifit from my stupidity, than have a 'last minute bit of fun' I'm not really to fussed what you say, you blatently don't do it anyway... Quote
za_sailer Posted February 20, 2004 Report Posted February 20, 2004 wot is up with u sell them ur long-long (or in english crazy/mad) either that or you drink too much after getting a new kite Quote
OwainGDWilliams Posted February 20, 2004 Report Posted February 20, 2004 now you are giving students a bad name! Im a student and wouldnt dream of letting my kite fly off in to the sun set. You are either 1) just winding everyone up and you dont actually do this 2) way to much money to burn or very kinda parents who dont care that your letting a couple hundred quids worth of kite fly off and 3) next time you let go of a kite make sure the wind is blowing towards edinburgh...I will pick it up on its way past. OGDW. Quote
