srod Posted November 21, 2003 Report Posted November 21, 2003 number 1: The Manual... any others? Quote
JoeSchmoe Posted November 21, 2003 Report Posted November 21, 2003 Nose manuals, noseroll, and grinds all spring to mind. Quote
blade3k Posted November 23, 2003 Report Posted November 23, 2003 Heehee....i think these are going to be the tricks i'm going to be doing. I'm not very good at getting in the air yet. . Quote
The Flyin Scotsman Posted November 23, 2003 Report Posted November 23, 2003 Slides, Reverts, ie, changing from heelside to toeside, while keeping at least one wheel on the ground, bit mad at speed Kev Quote
the_lone_wolf Posted November 23, 2003 Report Posted November 23, 2003 aha! - i knew it - all these sweet tricks, and you're using that frenzy again aren't you? we have to meet up somewhere, probly middle wallop, so you can give me some pointers on these things, i can now get 6ft jumps on my flyer (length, at 6 inches above the ground, LMAO). rjw Posted November 23, 2003 Report Posted November 23, 2003 a 180 powerslide at the end of a run would be the obvious, then a hard carve around and back the other way, fantastic on the beach and leaves impressive looking skids all over the place. great fun. rjw Quote
Outtacontroll Posted November 23, 2003 Report Posted November 23, 2003 Rail ride- Get the board on 2 wheels, get one foot out of the strap and on the edge of the board, both feet if you can! I cant balance like that for long but its worth a try if the winds to light to get air. Quote

This 1`s cool.. your toeside ok......get the board sliding then pull the bar in...I`ve done it a few time`s when I`ve had the hand on the beach for balance. U leave 5 trail`s in the sand.. Quote
rjw Posted November 24, 2003 Report Posted November 24, 2003 hand on the beach, thats cheating mate. must look cool though, i fly with handles and no harness so a hand on the beach would take some doing. no idea about heelside or toeside. i fly with my back to the wind, spin the board, carve round hard and go the other wind, far cooler than stopping and going back. almost impossible to do on grass i have found so far this year. rjw Quote
rasga Posted November 24, 2003 Report Posted November 24, 2003 that sounds like a healslide -toeside slide, and then a normal curve back from toeside Its not that hard on grass, i first learnt it on grass, takes some balls though, i prefer the bail on sand for that move! Quote
Nick 499 Posted November 24, 2003 Report Posted November 24, 2003 bet none of you's have heard of this one: it sounds a bit lame but i think it looks cool as f**k, get the board moving at a bit of pace and then go for a turn, stay facing down wind but slide the board out when manoeuvering the kite to the other side of the window (just sliding when your turning to go back the way you came, but, with the foot at the front of your deck going in new directoin, push your toes onto the wheel furthest down wind at front of board and apply pressure, your board should start to lift up onto the one wheel, and then you should be going along on one wheel. To stay on the wheel just vary the pressure applyed by your front foot and move your weight around. Can't hold it for more then about 9-10 seconds yet unless i go to a standstill, but will work on it. Don't no if that makes much sense but give it a try if it does. only thing is you need a bit of breeze to do it in. Quote
Tone Posted November 25, 2003 Report Posted November 25, 2003 manual to blind. you WILL back slam. Quote
Pugsleythefirst Posted November 25, 2003 Report Posted November 25, 2003 Newboy has definately been watching the Ozone DVD! Laurent Benamon does this on the film ! Clive Quote
nobby Posted November 25, 2003 Report Posted November 25, 2003 faceplant. better with air, but works without. Quote
srod Posted November 25, 2003 Author Report Posted November 25, 2003 that's a good one - always goes down well with any spectators, more so than any double-backloop-board-off-360-kiteloop-to-blind. Quote
bushflyer Posted November 25, 2003 Report Posted November 25, 2003 try a 180 slide to toeside and continue the slide back round to heelside. hold the bar above your head and stay low. the toeside bit takes some practice. madguernseyboy is the master of this move. it's all about balance... Quote
srod Posted November 25, 2003 Author Report Posted November 25, 2003 you could add a handlepass into that rather than holding the bar over your head, pretty cool. Quote
drunkmonkey Posted November 25, 2003 Report Posted November 25, 2003 Or you could always try spinning with eighter two or all four wheels down !http://groups.msn.com/KiteMountainBoarding/tricksequencesshots.msnw?Page=2 Quote
bushflyer Posted November 26, 2003 Report Posted November 26, 2003 i didnt mention the handlepass due to the risk element. look after your shoulders! Quote
The Flyin Scotsman Posted November 26, 2003 Report Posted November 26, 2003 Check the movie on Gabe Shortmans Kiting in Oregon (USA) album on http://www.KiteATB.co.uk theres one sweet move (which yes it does have some air in it!) must take some very precision timing, he like, slides to blind then flys the kite back and rotates back to heelside and off the other way, meh, i thought it looked mad anyway!
