And another one.... It came out 500g lighter than the original sk8 trucks on that board (scrub skudder 35). The axels have a little flex in them but they dont bend permanatly, and havent broken yet. .

Rail ride- Get the board on 2 wheels, get one foot out of the strap and on the edge of the board, both feet if you can! I cant balance like that for long but its worth a try if the winds to light to get air.

Does anybody use Peter Lynn Arcs for landboarding? Are they any good,and what kinda sizes are best?

Ive got a scudder 35 Which is more or less the same, and my mates got a lion canyon, in my opinoin theyre pretty good for the money, i aint broke mine yet and im 13 stone! I havent tried the kheo board, but the kheo stuff alwas seems pretty good. The best things to compare are the prices (unless money is no object!) and the board weight. Trying them out is always agood thing, but i doubt u'd go far wrong with either.

Just finished the baseplate, comes out at 130 gramms and i cant see it breaking in a hurry! ill post a pic when i get a chance.

Time for an update, ive started building a set of carbon/kevlar trucks to try out (break!) heres a cad image-

burgy: Im using carbon because i have the facilities avilable already. When i said foam i mean actually in the core of the truck, epoxy foam is real hard, you can barely dent it with a hammer, there are loadsa core materials about tho, some may be as good as wood for the deck but lighter, just a case of playing with it and seeing what works.

Thats cool then, cos ali and carbon dont mix to well, so with steel axles it will still be loads lighter. Hmm wont be too difficut prehaps, carbon/kevlar deck could be done, just ill have to find some lightweight wheels to do it justice, cos i aint gonna try making them! hmm and light footstraps to top it off.........

What im thinking of doing is making both the baseplate and hanger out of carbon skinned epoxy foam, about 4 layers of carbon on the thing an i recon ull be hard pressed to break it. The biggest problem is the bearing surfaces will still have to be some kind of metal, as will the axel stubs. Still would be a fair bit lighter. Are normal trucks steel or ali?

Anybody ever seen skate style trucks made out of carbon fibre or the likes? If they could be made to work they could be really light and just as strong as metal ones. Im thinking of trying to make some for a college project, any idears?

How big is ur npw? ive got a 4.3 and can go upwind as much as i like in winds 10 knots plus. The great thing about them is that once u get moving u can just keep them parked directly infront of u in the power zone using the brakes, and the kite becomes a windsuf rig, just 30' away!

NPW's do go to windward, u just need to be totaly powered. Gettin up some speed b4 u head up helps too. Watch out for the front collapsing tho u have to mess around with the brakes to stop it happening.

Do they work on grass, i thought they were road only?
