Kiteboyza Posted November 2, 2003 Report Posted November 2, 2003 you forgot Cameleon......oh dear Quote
bad dad Posted November 2, 2003 Report Posted November 2, 2003 get a cameleon you'l never look back, only to see the people you've passed Quote
Snake Posted November 3, 2003 Report Posted November 3, 2003 is'nt the truck a v-max with BF's on it ?? Quote

Pretty much I think but think you get the wider thicker axel. As for what you want if you beach alot, go for the truck, if it is park alot, go for the v-max. Get some soft sand with a v-max on barrows and you will be sat there trying to haul your butt out of the sand while the trucks float fast you. Quote
8015 Posted November 3, 2003 Report Posted November 3, 2003 Having seen the advantage of big buggies with bigfoots when racing at Hoylake, and felt the advantage of bigfoots on the back of my little buggy at Stevenston yesterday, I'd say go for the truck! The truck is a Vmax with bigfoots, the supertruck is a full race with bigfoots, but without the camber adjusters - as far as I can tell, both are available with slicks or knobblies but most sites show the truck with slicks and supertruck with knobblies to confuse you! My rationale is that upgrading to bigfoots is more expensive than buying a bigfoot equipped buggy. Downgrading to standard wheels is a lot cheaper, although you would probably want a new fork if doing that. Other people say get a cameleon - I probably would if I was buying a race buggy! Probably in the same price range as the truck? JIM Quote
Kiteboyza Posted November 3, 2003 Report Posted November 3, 2003 actually cheaper, if you can get hold of one..... Quote
lardyb Posted November 3, 2003 Report Posted November 3, 2003 don't listen to all these cameleon buggiers there only jelous that they made the biggest mistake for not buying a libre:p Don't write off a full race with intermediate tyres. I've found you only realy need big foots for realy soft sand and you don't go as quick with bigfoots on the hard stuff (but what do I know. I've only been doing it 5 mins) Quote
bad dad Posted November 3, 2003 Report Posted November 3, 2003 i've never met a libre pilot yeat that wished he'd bought a cameleon. Quote
MadAndy71 Posted November 3, 2003 Report Posted November 3, 2003 I personally dont get out often enough to somewhere large enough to have something like a chameleon.. My v-max is bad enough down the park so with a tractor under my kite, I might just make it to 10mph before I run out of space. Quote
bad dad Posted November 3, 2003 Report Posted November 3, 2003 i think i left someing out .should go i've never met a libre pilot yet that didnt wish he'd bought a cameleon. Quote
lardyb Posted November 3, 2003 Report Posted November 3, 2003 would you rather own a BMW or a citroen???? Libre german quality vs cameleon french........??????? (can't think of a word to discribe how the french build things) plus at least you can buy a libre and haggle for some discount. Cameleon's are like rockin horse sh1te and it's almost impossible to get any money off them (been doing it for 6 mins now) Quote
bad dad Posted November 3, 2003 Report Posted November 3, 2003 it's hard to get discount on good products. b.m.w.'s are two a penny. you know what they say .` i was going to buy a libre but i did'nt want to run with the herd`.same goes for bmw. Quote
stonemonkey Posted November 3, 2003 Report Posted November 3, 2003 These Cameleons seem to turn over really easy , and I think muttley was mighty glad he had his new helmet on as they don't weigh much do they LMAO , still it only took 3 of us to get it of him . boy did I laugh LOL well i did till my wheel fell off DOHHH!!! :D:D Quote
lardyb Posted November 3, 2003 Report Posted November 3, 2003 If cameleon's are so good why are there hardly any original bits left on your's then (bad dad)? just the sides rails as I recall???? not even the seat. Richardb sorry for hijacking this thread but these cameliers need to be stopped. look at a full race or super truck if you can afford it. the deeper seat is much better than on the vmax. Oh and avoid the knobblies unless you want to go very slow (just ask snakebite about his super tractor) Quote
Gray Cloud Posted November 3, 2003 Report Posted November 3, 2003 Clearly the Cameleon is a great product and mine I believe is far superior to any Libra ever made but mine like so many Cameleon’s it is a one off special but as a base to start from you can get no better. However there are many other quality buggies on the market how about a BBS or a Viper or my favourite the Extreme Racer. I guess they are all significantly more expensive but if you want VW then get a Libra if you want a Merc then look at something else! Gray Quote
Snake Posted November 3, 2003 Report Posted November 3, 2003 seems to me you boys need a lesson !!! rememer the story of the tortoise and the hare, who won ? I like slow ,slow is good, at least my wheels wont shake apart when i hit 50 mph ,not that im likely to hit 50 mph LOL so buy a bit of vor sprung derch technik mate , and leave the french sh!te where it belongs in the shop where they cant sell them cos they aint got enough bits to make a whole one i'll sit back and wait for the heavy boys to flame my ar5e. Quote
Kiteboyza Posted November 3, 2003 Report Posted November 3, 2003 What would last longer......all stainless cameleon or mild steel libre. Lets give it the beach test.... Quote
Snake Posted November 3, 2003 Report Posted November 3, 2003 which can you get parts for quicker ???????????????????? the flaming has commenced pmsl Quote
Kiteboyza Posted November 3, 2003 Report Posted November 3, 2003 Dont need spares for cameleon....they built to last unlike sme of the others Quote
Muttley Posted November 3, 2003 Report Posted November 3, 2003 These Cameleons seem to turn over really easy ok, ok... so i flipped mine on saturday a freak accident... hitting a patch of soft stuff half way through a powerslide i put that down using disk wheels rather than pilot error good job i wasn't in my old libra... all the powder coating would have shaken off Quote
Kiteboyza Posted November 3, 2003 Report Posted November 3, 2003 PMSL....not a good feeling when that big wide axle lifts....been there and survived to ride again. Quote
bad dad Posted November 3, 2003 Report Posted November 3, 2003 my 12 year old daughter has a v max she said `these libre buggys are ideal for girls and children, i can't wait to grow up and have a cameleon buggy like my dad`. Quote
