paulie_amoose Posted April 24, 2014 Report Posted April 24, 2014 lose the shorts! These have been my trade mark shorts for last 8 years but now even I can see the trend towards the shortless wetsuit wang look.. So should I lose the 3/4 length circa 2004 shorts and show off my considerable package.. Or should I keep it wrapped? http://i339.photobucket.com/albums/n473/paulie_amoose/missedpass.jpg Apologies for the slightly weird picture, limited choice at work! Quote
Andy-j Posted April 24, 2014 Report Posted April 24, 2014 I hear you bro! I went out kiting on monday night and i actually double thought about not wearing mine.... I just couldnt bring myself to it though. Quote
g0nz01599968659 Posted April 24, 2014 Report Posted April 24, 2014 I think its high time full length 'kite pants' had a revival - and not even in a retro-cool/ironic way either... if you're going to fly a huge brightly coloured kite in a public place you might as well don your finest duds and go the full nine Quote
paulie_amoose Posted April 24, 2014 Author Report Posted April 24, 2014 I have set of these ready for that day Dan.... http://powerkiteshop.com/images/productimages/clothing/brunottikitesurfxtr2004.jpg Quote

paulie_amoose Posted April 24, 2014 Author Report Posted April 24, 2014 So it's a close run thing on the poll... Bit like Scottish independence, depending on the result I will declare Saturday independence from shorts day... Get voting.. Quote

Jesus Moose when did you loose your arms... I feel for you man Quote
fdvj Posted April 24, 2014 Report Posted April 24, 2014 If you are wearing a short leg wetsuit then shorts over the top is essential, men just look wrong/german just a shortie. How ever shorts over a full length wetsuit is currently out of vogue, although full length kite pants would work based on the principle above. Quote
Maro Posted April 24, 2014 Report Posted April 24, 2014 Moose!! Stop trying be so modest, you know as well as any of your crew just how much of a trend setter you are, you don't care to follow like a lost sheep. Whatever you wear, it will instanly become popular and not only will you influence the fashion choices of wanabees but also inspire steeze upon us all. I say keep the pants. Skimmer, is your boyfriend jealous when u go out like that? Quote
paulie_amoose Posted April 24, 2014 Author Report Posted April 24, 2014 Thanks Mark... Stiring stuff and almost makes me wanna keep the shorts. With old skool now being the new new skool I think that full length kites should come back.. Maybe have a retro kite pants day in South Wales. It would be as unfashionable as the local haircuts.. Quote
mick Posted April 24, 2014 Report Posted April 24, 2014 Moose, maybe there should be a third option. Option C. Who gives a f*ck !!!! Quote
paulie_amoose Posted April 24, 2014 Author Report Posted April 24, 2014 Come on Mick.. Bearing in mind the amount of time you spend on this forum this is as exciting as it gets for you.... I know you really want me to lose the shorts so you can check out my arse. In answer to your PM, yes it is just like two bits Edam in a hanky.. Quote

TBH its a good poll so yes, I think the shorts should go. But then again, be an individual and do your own thing. You like the shorts, keep em. Be the moose we all love. Quote
StarKitesUK Posted April 25, 2014 Report Posted April 25, 2014 Keep them on fella. Nothing wrong with being different. I wear boardies some times and other times I have my spuds on show. All depends on which wettie I'm wearing. One would be offensive if I did not wear my board shorts I actually prefer the look of board shorts over a wettie, although most of the time it's totally pointless. Paul Quote
paulie_amoose Posted April 25, 2014 Author Report Posted April 25, 2014 One would be offensive if I did not wear my board shorts The crotch less "wetsuit" only available from certain retailers? I think Mick has a few of these in the back of his van! Even though the poll is swinging in the favor for the Yes vote, the no campaign has come up with some stronger more moving arguments. So I may go against the will of the people and just keep on wearing them! Quote
mick Posted April 25, 2014 Report Posted April 25, 2014 Years ago there was a reason to wear boardies but with the advent of modern kites, apart from protecting the wetty from some damage, there is little point in them. Yes they do hide the lunch box but for me I prefer to accent it with no boardies and a seat harness. Keep em on dude. Cheer us up a bit. Quote
steve_w Posted April 25, 2014 Report Posted April 25, 2014 Think of the children, don't lose the board shorts. Quote
SonnyRider Posted April 25, 2014 Report Posted April 25, 2014 I think they are keepers and have voted accordingly Quote
Dragnfly Posted April 25, 2014 Report Posted April 25, 2014 I've only worn shorts a couple of times and found they really cut down on flexibility, because there's no stretch in them. Didn't like them at all! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Quote
