Spartan Posted August 12, 2016 Report Posted August 12, 2016 It looks like everyone is copying flysurfer with going high aspect. The guy in this review mentions that it does look like a flysurfer. Quote
Jason Posted August 15, 2016 Report Posted August 15, 2016 Cab were making high aspect LEI kites long before FS. Aspect ratios are totally different. Something this high aspect is generally no fun to fly for most purposes. Personally I think it looks horrible. Might be ok for hangtime though. Quote
andy666 Posted August 15, 2016 Report Posted August 15, 2016 Flysurfer didn't invent high aspect kites and they only very recently started making LEI. Even Peter Lynn have been making the fury for longer then flysurfer have had the boost. @Jason what ever happened to your custom made high aspect griffin kite? I remember you saying that wasn't great fun to fly either. Quote

They may have jumped the shark with this one, time will tell. I flew it up at kitesurfari FNQ, marginal winds with a 10m in a buggy and was very quick! Not as heavy to fly as the velocity. Didn't get to use on water because of the unusually light winds we had. Flying on the beach, the kite sat above you like a racing foil, to the point where i was worried it was going to fall on my head, but it was surprisingly stable up there. Their kite designer Pat was on the trip and told us that he spent a lot of time back and forth with their CAD programmer on this kite. They had to really work on the wingtips to get this thing to fly properly because of the high AR and also super flat centre section with very swept tips. They truly have created something in between a current high AR inflatable and foil kite. It felt nice to fly and should be a fun jumping kite, with great characteristics on a foil board, for those of you who don't want to deal with a foil kite. jhn.holgate and andy666 2 Quote

It's probably a bit higher aspect than the Apollo. Lost the plan and can't remember. andy666 1 Quote
