I am looking for the locked in feeling and getting increasingly frustrated by slipping out of my board so im thinking of getting some Ronix boots and giving it a go to progress with freestyle/wakestyle tricks.

Ive spotted some Ronix boots but I wondered if they would be ok on my Raptor Pro LTD or will i need to get a new board?

Does any one else find the straps on the Raptor Pro LTD dont give you that solid feeling and your feet can move around too much? Maybe its the straps. I was chatting to guy yesterday who was riding Ronix boots with a cabrinha board so ive had a look and the calibre and custom are designed with boots in mind. i think the rocker on the custom will make it better for boots and the H2 straps look really good too!

all fittings are universal , even wake boards boots, so you shouldn't have a problem

how ever getting the boots on is another , one lad I saw trying to get into his boots before water start, demolished his kite it was his first attempt to get into boot bindings , there is a separate boot , binding sett up, that looks easy to get going but aint cheap!!!

All fitting 'might be universal' [1] but not all boards work with boots

If you fit boots to a non compatible board you run the risk of ripping out the inserts, or snapping the board

I've no idea if your Raptor Pro is boot compatible. You need to ask the manufacturer or a shop who sells both

[1] no such thing as universal, I know some of the newer North fittings are spaced differently than other manufacturers

I tried boots a week or so ago & didn't really like it much. They weighed an absolute tonne, and filled with water too, making them even heavier. Also, when you crash it hurts a hell of a lot more than it does with straps, especially if you are hooked in.

Then again - it can't be all bad - some people do love 'em and i've not totally ruled it out yet. I might give it another go with some different boots - maybe open toe, to let the water drain out.

Im going to keep progressing with the raptor pro without boots i think and try getting my straps a bit tighter on my feet to get that hooked in feeling more. I just don't feel that secure on the board with wetsuit boots on and my feet seem to move around alot and it really doesn't help when your properly lit and looking to boost or pop. I do love the board just not the straps when i have wetsuit boots on.

Jimmy 6 - ive got a pair of the 6.5mm hot atans boots but ive just ordered a pair of 3mm ones and this should help.

Dragon fly - the Naish Apex bindings look really good. Would a pair of these bindings or the cabrinha ones fit my crazyfly board? This could well be a much better option than getting a new board.

The 2014 bull dozer looks awsome and comes with much better bindings which give you a more looked in feeling. just aint got a spare monkey knocking around.

Daniel the naish apex are awesome they should fit and are amazingly comfy. Once you get them adjusted right your feet are locked in like bindings with all the freedom of straps. Best straps out there atm!!!

+1 for Naish Apex. Just got a set with my new Monarch and they are without doubt the most comfortable best fitting binding I have used.

Nothing wrong with the crazyfly straps though.I think the 6.5mm boots (!) are your problem as you have guessed.

I wear Billabong 2mm split toe sock boots which are as good as having bare feet grip wise and enough to keep the cold at bay in the winter if you have a decent wetsuit

They do look great. If only they had a sliding toe bar like the LF ones, I'd have bought a pair already.

I changed from LF comps (3+yrs) with the adjustable toe bar to the Naish Apex

I find the Apex much better in all areas

Naish apex bindings ordered!

Lets prey for some wind this wknd!

Heh, not my fault if you don't like or get on with them :)

I've yet to try with boots yet. I normally use the Atan socks\boots in winter. I thought the water was still warm to not need boots? (not been out in the UK for about 3 weeks+, not looking forward to wearing a wetsuit after two weeks in boardies)
