adamgerrard
hi all, i have two ozone C4 bars and im buying a frenzy snowkite can i just use a C4 bar or do I need to switch? Cheers Adam
Andy-j
You'd have to add a brake/leash line to get a proper safety. they dont flag out like an inflateable, they stall out on both back lines.
twchambers
Depends how old it is as the more recent ozone foils do have an improved single line flag out too.
m14dgt
The newer ones stall to a single line fitted to a bridle at about 2/3 along the kite. Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk

So i'd need to a brake line on my c4 bar? i couldnt just pull the back lines in
Andy-j
I would say no, thats not really an option. if you got in trouble you'd be proper fu*ked.. The safety on the pukka bar fires the front lines so all the tension is on the back lines. By adding a brake line you could leash to the brake line meaning if you hit your safety or let go of your bar unhooked it'd have the same effect. Have a look at this (ignore the pulleys as they are only for fixed bridles!) to see how the safety works on a foil.
Westwood
Learn more about the Contact Snow bar system here: Ozone Snowkites > Products > Kites > Frenzy > Control System I would say no because C4 bars are 45cm and only the small size frenzy (5/7) would use that. You need a bigger bar. The safety set ups are different too, and you dont need floats in snow either. I think it is a false economy trying to reuse your bar here. lives2fly
No it won't work. The newer frenzies are 5 line I think also. my 2012 & 2013 Access's are anyway. The contact snow control system is slick anyway, so worth buying.
Andy-j
I just use my hifis on the snow. they reverse launch a treat.
lives2fly
Yeah if you have C4s then just use those. I just have foils for snow cos they are more packable and lighter but I always hike into the hills to kite.
Andy-j
only benefit of a foil is you can pull the brake and take a pi$$ whenever you want.. if you have an inflateable you need to find someone to help land/launch or something to leash it to while you relieve yourself.
