I was referring to the convenience of the short leash. You are probably talking about the slider hook, Jay recommend to check the dyneema cord regularly; otherwise one can use a panoply of steel parts like the fixed U hook to which the loop is directly connected or the regular fixed hook or even the steel sliding hook as shown here . I heard that earlier models had some flaws, not any more, metal is forged, not welded and the quality is second to none, the price very reasonable. By the way I am not part of this company, just an average happy user!
