Kite Kid Posted December 20, 2011 Author Report Posted December 20, 2011 Hating not being able to kite at the mo, but decided to go for some new obsession. be my first ever sle Appart from my nexus Quote
williamjames555 Posted December 20, 2011 Report Posted December 20, 2011 what i really want in a set of RPM's probably like a 8/10 maybe even a 4.5 but realistically im not getting anything new i might get like a 2010/2011 8m or something though) Quote
StarKitesUK Posted December 20, 2011 Report Posted December 20, 2011 The Park's are lovely. a friend of my has the 2012 Torch and which he swears by, I flew it in light winds but could not get up on the board as it was so light. really nice looking kites though Quote
StarKitesUK Posted December 21, 2011 Report Posted December 21, 2011 The park looks really nice. My mate has the torch which he loves. I had a go but the wind was to light. Quote
kev1n Posted December 21, 2011 Report Posted December 21, 2011 got ion4's at moment which are looking a little sad, so very very tempted to put 12 and 8m hadlow id's on the c/c Quote
Sanjay Posted December 21, 2011 Report Posted December 21, 2011 Hating not being able to kite at the mo, but decided to go for some new obsession. be my first ever sle Appart from my nexus Obsession or Obsession Pro? Since you say SLE, I guess the normal Obsession. Why the move from C kites? I always really liked RRD, riding Obsessions in 09 and 10 and before that HypertypeII. The new ones look awesome I have struggled to decide between Hadlow ID or Bandit5. Decided on Bandit 5 primarily based on better much relaunch and better deal. didn't find the ID much better unhooked anyway Quote
doggy Posted December 21, 2011 Report Posted December 21, 2011 Obsession is a great choice, I think everyone that has tried our demo 9m has loved it. Nearly all of our instructors who are buying new kites this year are going to get some! Myself: love C kites, Liquid Force Nirvana all the way this year, arrived today Was very very tempted by the obsession pro though! Quote
g0nz01599968659 Posted December 21, 2011 Report Posted December 21, 2011 tempted by the Varial X 10m... just for going out & boosting. Quote
reecey Posted December 21, 2011 Report Posted December 21, 2011 I'm going from waroo's to Kahoona's. Nice kites. Nuff said. Quote
Sanjay Posted December 22, 2011 Report Posted December 22, 2011 I'm going from waroo's to Kahoona's. Nice kites. Nuff said. So they still exist? ;-) Quote
Mike Birt Posted December 22, 2011 Report Posted December 22, 2011 tempted by the Varial X 10m... just for going out & boosting. I actually like this one for waveriding in onshore (been using the 8m a lot), never used anything like it. It's so agile and direct without being aggressive. I've ordered a 6m for the canaries, looking forward to a lot more sessions... and your right - it does boost very well, goes straight up! reminds me of the old lift pro 11.5. also lifts me back up when I redirect too.. so nice to have a mainstream kite that actually GENERATES power in the turn.. happy days! I flew the i.d tbh honest i wasn't the biggest fan, If you like c's you should try get on an Airush razor they are amazing kites and depower is brilliant. They still have a square wingtip so really direct, the I would of kept mine if it weren't for the bone graft Quote
Maro Posted December 22, 2011 Report Posted December 22, 2011 I'm suprised you've moved from C's to obsessions, I flew last years obsession and just didn't get on with it, I found it quite slow to respond. Quote
coffeewhiteone Posted December 23, 2011 Report Posted December 23, 2011 Just took my 12 meter Arawak out for the first time today, it's a proper boost machine with loads of grunt. Really please with it. The wind was a bit shitty but hope to get out on Christmas day, if I can stay off the pop tonight and tomorrow. Have a great and safe Christmas. happy kitting Quote
hamishjohn Posted December 26, 2011 Report Posted December 26, 2011 it has to be the fuels, even if you are not going to unhook still an amazing ride Quote
tommy_colombo Posted April 29, 2012 Report Posted April 29, 2012 I'm going from waroo's to Kahoona's. Nice kites. Nuff said. which year waroo did u get and which kahoona you got? Quote
stig31 Posted April 30, 2012 Report Posted April 30, 2012 Demoed so may kites over the last year or so, as the trusty 08 atoms are at the end of their life. It came down to the Nemesis or the Rpm, just paid for 7/9/12 RPM's as I wanted the choice of the freestyle/wakestyle setting on the RPM. loved the Nemesis but it sits so far forward in the window and would rather edge hard to put my kite there. Just waiting for delivery now, I would have liked to have demoed the Hadlow ID but Flexifoil have no presence in the US and would rather a kite have a few generations under its belt. Quote
Yeharr Posted May 1, 2012 Report Posted May 1, 2012 Bandit V, had a few of the previous years bandits, but this years are way ahead of the older bandits, quicker, boosts are higher, bar pressure more even, less off on, power is very smooth without spikes in delivery, front tube is way smaller, the chunky ends are gone, the relaunch is far too easy, Not so good is--- the bar is the biggest pile of shit this side of the Sun, and the bag is just ok. So impressed with the kite I bought a full set, Wifey is no so impressed, but says the bags look good, Quote

Yeharr Posted May 2, 2012 Report Posted May 2, 2012 The ends have been known to break off this years model, the quick release is from the Velcro age and will not release if the lines are slack, ie when the kite tumbles down from a bad landing and you want to release before it powers up and launches you, and you can only pull it from one side, it's not right, it's shite, IMO! paulie_amoose Posted May 3, 2012 Report Posted May 3, 2012 2010\11 Vegas's are still going strong.... Might replace the 12 soon as it is the most worn but likely to be a secondhand 2012 Vegas.. Cant justify new kites these days.. Quote
