surfdoode2 Posted May 13, 2011 Report Posted May 13, 2011 I'm looking at buying a grab handle for my ckb lb 28 and it looked like the mbs grab handle holes were 180 mm apart and I was told all grab handles have holes a standard distance apart but the predrilled holes on my ckb are only 150 mm apart. Can anyone suggest a grab handle with holes 150 mm apart? I liked the look of the Trampa handles, Thanks Quote
CKB Posted May 13, 2011 Report Posted May 13, 2011 Holes for Grab handles have never been "standard" IMHO. The 150mm spacing on LB28 was for a Kitedeck Grab and they no longer make them. You could just re-drill.... or I have a seconds (proto CKB Carbon) one, which I could drill to 150 mm as it would just about take that spacing. The proto carbon grabs I made are not as comfortable as most commercial ones due to the fact that the EVA foam backing is quite thin and dense. http://hartland.org.uk/ckb/truck_files/CarbonGrabLow.jpg Quote
heres jonny Posted May 13, 2011 Report Posted May 13, 2011 Is recommend re drilling to 180mm and fitting an mbs or trampa one, theyre super comfy ... Ive got a kitedeck gummy one that Paul mentions above, that fits 150mm and is super comfy, but good luck finding one.. I have a couple of carbon ones and have modified one with some thick foam padding and it works well (: Quote

GeorgeFromDevon Posted May 13, 2011 Report Posted May 13, 2011 CKB do you happen to have any old decks laying about or any part finished planks? i got one of your carbon grab handles coming in the post and it would be so nice to bolt it to its own breed =] Quote

Check the For sale section on this forum as Carbon decks occasionally turn up. Search : Cambello, D-EX and CKB 's (they are all carbon). They are all customized for specific rider weight so check the flex is suitable, if you find one. All the CKB's have specific numbers such as LB19 etc which I have listed on my FB pages: Land Boards 2004-2010 | Facebook Quote
surfdoode2 Posted May 14, 2011 Author Report Posted May 14, 2011 That proto CKB carbon handle sounds good if it will avoid me having to drill into my lovely new board! How much would you want for it? Quote

Tjah1087 Posted May 14, 2011 Report Posted May 14, 2011 I have a green kitedeck grab handle spare somewhere if anyone wants it? Its stiff rubber, so won't affect the stiffness of the deck. Comfy to hold on to too! Quote
surfdoode2 Posted May 15, 2011 Author Report Posted May 15, 2011 Is that 150mm between holes as well then and how much would you want for that? Quote
heres jonny Posted May 15, 2011 Report Posted May 15, 2011 Yeah it'll fit straight on, I've got a blue one and it fits right on to 150mm holes as they were drilled for kitedeck handle spacing ... Definitely take the kitedeck one Quote
