betty swallox Posted October 4, 2010 Report Posted October 4, 2010 hello, i've been playing with fixed bridle kites for a while but ulltimately want to go depower. THERE is a sabre ii 12.5 on ebay at the moment the current price is £149. Are these any good and what kind of money is fair to pay if its in good nick. cheers Quote
Vic_Serotonin Posted October 5, 2010 Report Posted October 5, 2010 I found the 12m Sabre II too much kite to learn depower on, even after a couple of years on fixed bridle kites, so I wouldn't suggest it as a first depower. It's extremely lifty and a huge kite to handle on the ground if you're coming from smaller fixed bridles. I progressed on depower as soon as I started using a 10m Access XC. Good place to start in my opinion, though if you ultimately want to get into freestyle you'll probably be looking for something with more lift in 6 months. Maybe a Manta or um, 12m Sabre II Quote

Lewy01256 Posted October 5, 2010 Report Posted October 5, 2010 I recently got my first Depower, a 10m Frenzy 07. I would think they go for around the same price as a Sabre II and is a bit smaller size. Might be better suited for a first depower I'm getting on quite well with it, enough power to get me flying, but not too much that I feel well out of my depth Thats just my 2 Cents Good luck mate Quote
