eyesfromthedark Posted August 14, 2010 Report Posted August 14, 2010 Hi! Does anyone know of any places to fly in or around braintree, Essex? Thanks!! Quote
ianbagley Posted October 19, 2010 Report Posted October 19, 2010 Mersea Island. You can get there in about half an hour. Follow the signs for beach carparks and pull up in the gravel park at the bottom of the hill. The Wind/Kite surf club is in the big green hut on the beach. Wear boots as the oysters are vicious! ianbagley Posted October 19, 2010 Report Posted October 19, 2010 Any wind with south in it is good for Mersea. For landboarding your options in BRaintree are nil. You could try Higlands park in Chelmsford or Gosbecks park in Colchester (near the zoo). Hope this helps. Quote

dan1981 Posted April 20, 2011 Report Posted April 20, 2011 Hi Guys, I've been reading here for ages but I think this is my first post. I'm Dan and I've been flying around Bishops Stortford for ages, just moved to Braintree. I've only started boarding late last year and didn't do it over the winter. Anyway I've been down the Discovery centre a few times in the evenings without a kite and it's never been that busy. Anyway I'm thinking to pop over there tonight with the kiteboard and was wondering if anyone is kiting tonight around the area tonight? Quote

Spielson Posted May 28, 2012 Report Posted May 28, 2012 Does anyone still fly down at Hylands Park? havent been down there for ages. Quote
Markbrosnan78 Posted May 28, 2012 Report Posted May 28, 2012 I tried Hylands Park once with a 6.4. Didn't really like it. Too many people, ground lumpy an wind gusty. Didn't see anyone else flying down there. Come to the coast it's not much further and a lot more fun. Quote
