GEORGEMP Posted July 11, 2012 Report Posted July 11, 2012 That is expensive. Box End cheaper. But good to have a cable park that close. Quote
GEORGEMP Posted July 11, 2012 Report Posted July 11, 2012 Just got back from a session at Hannam's ... I highly highly recommend it ... the guys there are brilliant worth every penny !! Does that £20 for 15 mins within an hour include a loan board? Can you use the loan board on the ramps? Quote
GEORGEMP Posted July 11, 2012 Report Posted July 11, 2012 ....or do you get a stern ticking off like at Box End? Quote
SkydiveDan Posted July 11, 2012 Report Posted July 11, 2012 from what i've read you pay for hire kit on top and ramps are a no go.. Quote
Johnny RRD Posted July 11, 2012 Report Posted July 11, 2012 been to hannams a couple times now, its a sick setup they have down there.... you have to remember when you pay for your 15mins you and paying for 1 on 1 coaching, and its good coaching to, in my first 15 min session i got my cable rayley's nailed, id been trying these for a year at boxend and had given up after KO'ing myself in the water after a shit landing, had a 30mins private session on saturday morning, and got huge raleys down on the long line and cable bankrolls to, you need to use hannams as somewhere to practice tricks and then go to boxend and put them down on there without having to swim every time you stack! and on another note boxend doesn't have 30K worth of the best made kickers and sliders in the world..... cowboy54 Posted July 11, 2012 Report Posted July 11, 2012 hey ady how was Portsmouth? The old git was too busy dangling off his cable today to make it down to Hunny for a wicked kite session. Out on the 14m for 4hrs in great wind, few other folks out on 12&11's New town was rammed with kiters, max 3 on the water at any one time Quote
ady Posted July 14, 2012 Author Report Posted July 14, 2012 Portsmouth was really nice and a lot of choice of where to kite. Water looks a lot cleaner as well. I went to hillhead where you can set up and launch from a grass field next to the beach. Was great. Quote
mick Posted July 16, 2012 Report Posted July 16, 2012 WEll Sunday was good after everybody had gone home depressed. The wind came up for a couple of hours after 2. Today was good down at Searles. Quite a few out at the sailing club. Quote
ashley, Posted July 16, 2012 Report Posted July 16, 2012 sounds good did you go down to the marsh and pick samphier after you kite ??????????????? Quote
balugh Posted July 16, 2012 Report Posted July 16, 2012 sounds good did you go down to the marsh and pick samphier after you kite ??????????????? He didn't bring his banjo mate. On the samphier note however I cooked mine up when I got home. Really quite tasty...though I'm not sure I'll miss a session to go wading through the marshes after it... :-) Quote
mick Posted July 16, 2012 Report Posted July 16, 2012 Real hillybilly stuff this sanfer picking. I asked a guy who was married to his sister and he knew what it was. Mind he'd be good in the mud with them webbed toes. Quote
mick Posted July 16, 2012 Report Posted July 16, 2012 Oh Mark, Craig said it was a horn stiffener. Well? I had to write that cos I couldnt spell afrodisneyak. Quote
mick Posted July 17, 2012 Report Posted July 17, 2012 I forgot to say I met up with Peter Lynn on the beach at Hunstanton, the fab little Danni D who I demonstrated the self land with the aid of a sand filled bag and snap shackle and Lingo Liz who was just starting to kitesurf and really enjoying herself. I didnt realise legs could go that blue, Liz. Quote

skidmarks Posted July 17, 2012 Report Posted July 17, 2012 I forgot to say I met up with Peter Lynn on the beach at Hunstanton, the fab little Danni D who I demonstrated the self land with the aid of a sand filled bag and snap shackle and Lingo Liz who was just starting to kitesurf and really enjoying herself. I didnt realise legs could go that blue, Liz. so how big is this sandbag you fill any pics of how you attach a snap shackle too it ? Quote
mick Posted July 17, 2012 Report Posted July 17, 2012 Skid, I just put sand into my kite bag the other day. Usually I use an Ikea blue bag. If I feel its too windy I'll dig a hole and drop the bag in leaving the handles free. I have a webbing luggage strap with the spring type locking lever and clip the snap shackle onto that. Its a big shackle maybe 3 and a half inches long. I can hook the shackle straight onto the handles if I want. I keep the webbing because if theres a post or a groyne available I'll use that instead of the bag.. At Hunny Ive used the bins by the dunes as well. On Monday I hooked onto the groynes at Searles. Up at Black Rock last year I showed a guy how to do it using his tow ball hitch. If its solid then go for it BUT as you know. Nothing replaces the safety of having a buddy launch and land you, Quote

balugh Posted July 18, 2012 Report Posted July 18, 2012 Oh Mark, Craig said it was a horn stiffener. Well? I had to write that cos I couldnt spell afrodisneyak. Maybe that's why no ladies sat next to me on the train / bus this morning...:-) Quote
