Highlander UK Posted December 1, 2009 Report Posted December 1, 2009 so its approaching that timeof year when we travelsouth to visit the in-laws at xmas and was wondering if anyone has the tide times for bls on the 24th dec. cheers andy Quote
efff Posted December 3, 2009 Report Posted December 3, 2009 no chance mate bls wont be usuable till the end of march ish north wales is probably the best bet or ainsdale but you would have to mess about with getting a permit and stuff Quote
Highlander UK Posted December 4, 2009 Author Report Posted December 4, 2009 why is that - we went there around xmas last year? Quote
kinny Posted December 5, 2009 Report Posted December 5, 2009 is he thinking of blackrock sands? Quote
efff Posted December 5, 2009 Report Posted December 5, 2009 if you kite surf you will be fine but it will be like a bog as the beach is mainly silt it holds the water and just doesnt dry out you could try it but i dont think you will have much luck pm croftland1 on racekites he lives near bls and is probably the best person to ask Quote
martincooke Posted December 5, 2009 Report Posted December 5, 2009 Croftland lives across the road from the beach Quote
Highlander UK Posted December 6, 2009 Author Report Posted December 6, 2009 it was well hard last xmas at the top, just across a wee stream. Quote
efff Posted December 7, 2009 Report Posted December 7, 2009 well you could try it, im sure bls uses the same tide times as fleetwood and all you need is for the tide to be below 8.5 for there to be a dry bit of beach good luck if you try it mate bls is a epic piece of beach when its good. let us know how you get on would be intrested to know Quote
FO Kite Posted December 9, 2009 Report Posted December 9, 2009 Now what was the original question? Ah yes Low tide on 24the December at Morecombe, according to WXtide32.com is 10.07am at 3.2m This program will predict tides anywhere in the world at any time (within reason). Quote
BladeAddict Posted December 9, 2009 Report Posted December 9, 2009 But at BLS its the high tides that matter. If they are too high they soak the beach and it doesnt dry out between tides. Quote
FO Kite Posted December 10, 2009 Report Posted December 10, 2009 So for 24th Dec High tide 03.30 at 7m Low tide 10.07 at 3.2m High Tide 15.46 at 8m Quote
SandMonster Posted December 11, 2009 Report Posted December 11, 2009 I think you've got the highs & lows mixed up there, but it has to be below 8.5 ish for a couple of days at least to dry out. Quote
Croftland1 Posted December 15, 2009 Report Posted December 15, 2009 Given good weather and dry humidity it is possible that it will dry out enough. BenR, who's house also looks onto the beach, has buggied here in the Xmas hols before now. I've been buggying here for about the last 3 years and in that time I've never been able to use it at that time of year. Here's hoping though! Quote
efff Posted December 15, 2009 Report Posted December 15, 2009 Hmm bls in winter winds now that's something to get exited about and I'm off over Christmas I can feel a jaunt up when the tides low enough if we get some decent weather Quote

efff Posted December 17, 2009 Report Posted December 17, 2009 theres always knott end that place can be as big as bls when tides are good and its not supposed to be as boggy ill be going up when we get some decent weather or at least the rain stops for 5 minutes Quote
