spire Posted November 3, 2010 Report Posted November 3, 2010 Hi guys I live in melbourne and am after a light wind twintip. Just wondering if anyone has anything they would like to sell. I would profer a second hand one but am open to new ones as well. apreciate any help or advice on tracking a good one down. cheers Joel Quote
Jason Posted November 3, 2010 Report Posted November 3, 2010 How light a wind board are you talking?? Is it a light wind freestyle board or a big ultra light wind board? The Nobile Flying carpet would be the ultimate light wind board - http://www.briskites.com.au/index.php?l=product_detail&p=704 I think we have a new 2010 140cm Nobile XTR available for $875 Jas Quote
spire Posted November 3, 2010 Author Report Posted November 3, 2010 light as possible the carpet looks like the kind of board I am after.I saw a picture of the crazy fly cruiser which is 154 x44 and something called a lite wave wing but I guess am after something that will get me up in next to nothing but still handle a little if that is possible. have you ridden many and how have they compared? cheers joel Quote
Jason Posted November 3, 2010 Report Posted November 3, 2010 No Experience with the Crazyfly but the Nobile is similar to the Flysurfer Flydoor except the flydoor comes in 3 size options with the biggest being 170x50cm and I believe the Nobile is lighter. Quote
spire Posted November 3, 2010 Author Report Posted November 3, 2010 thanks for the help do you have anything ex dome or second hand. cheers Quote
Kamikuza Posted November 4, 2010 Report Posted November 4, 2010 I got the Flydoor XL 170x50 ... had a Spleene Door 154x42 until I broke it The XL is a little heavy, compared to the Door - I think cos it's got a wood core so it's really strong which is important when spending big money on a board! And you're a fat bastard although, I'm not the fattest bastard riding a Flydoor! Personally, I don't notice the weight when it's on my feet either ... Great board, planes quick and goes upwind well. In light wind, me and the Flydoor + Speed2 19 are now the first out riding - instead of the last. Quote

vipar Posted November 4, 2010 Report Posted November 4, 2010 yeah nah all jokes, I think most of the kitesurfing community want a Speed 3 19m and a door after seeing that video of kiting on glass. Not to hijack poor spires thread but that Nobile Flying Carpet looks the goods. Quote
Jason Posted November 4, 2010 Report Posted November 4, 2010 Sorry, used boards like these are few and far between. They tend to be keepers as you won't have a want to upgrade every year. Quote

I Thats great news that means that on the same gear it would be no trouble for me to get going in 3 knots as I only weigh 60kg. cheers viper see you monday and we can test your theory. on the whole though thanks to others for your advice. like I say though if anyone has a light wind board to sell I am interested.
