Shick Posted April 29, 2009 Report Posted April 29, 2009 I am confused now, I have been offered a Slingshot rev 08 Atom 08 Instinct edge 08 Nobile 555 All 9m This is my first LEI and I will be using it in a flei bug in land and on the beach. What do you recon? Quote
Lee_m Posted April 29, 2009 Report Posted April 29, 2009 Atom i think the edge are hard to fly at the best of times! slingshot is poo and i'm not sure about the 555 Quote
Tjah1087 Posted April 29, 2009 Report Posted April 29, 2009 Atom i think the edge are hard to fly at the best of times! slingshot is poo and i'm not sure about the 555 Bollogs. The Rev is the most widely aclaimed SLE of last year, very popular, great performance, great stability. The edge isn't hard to fly at all, but are a little less forgiving and more difficult to get the performance out of. Will rocket you upwind in the buggy and launch you well though. Atom low performance, bad low end. Fairly forgiving though, which might be better if you are less confident. Not tried the 555. Get a demo, and see if you like it in the buggy before getting one. Siimon Posted April 29, 2009 Report Posted April 29, 2009 Apparently the 555 is very similar to the waroo in terms of flying characteristics, so it'll presumably be light on the turns, easy to fly, yet decent performance when you want it. Quote
SKEER Posted April 29, 2009 Report Posted April 29, 2009 Atom i think the edge are hard to fly at the best of times! slingshot is poo and i'm not sure about the 555 Care to back that up with any more pointless advice / information, or are you about done? Thought so. Quote

Thought so. First off! do one! And as for someone getting there first LEI for land i would say that the atom is the best out of the four above! Quote
mick Posted April 29, 2009 Report Posted April 29, 2009 Lee, what you mean is IMHO that is IYHO;) . You may be right, I don't know but for sure, everyone has there own preferences, which is what you stated. Quote
g3legacy Posted April 29, 2009 Report Posted April 29, 2009 Lol what a load of turd this is! The rev was amazing as far as i know, enough people have told me! The Atom will be made well and isnt that low performance, ive seen some mental stuff done on them... Ive heard good stuff on the ozone kite but dont know much about the 555. Id go Atom but get whatever you like, if its in good nick, you can afford it and you like the way it flys....get it. Quote
foggyblackpool Posted April 29, 2009 Report Posted April 29, 2009 So Lee_M,what evidence do you have to support your opinion the the slingshot rev is poo? Quote
AliB Posted April 29, 2009 Report Posted April 29, 2009 from the few times ive flown the rev i thought it was really good for a bow. and thats coming from a hard core C kite rider Quote
foggyblackpool Posted April 29, 2009 Report Posted April 29, 2009 My dad has a rev coming tomorrow after talking to several shops and riders and me having a crack on one for him(on land admittedly) but everyone has said as far as bow/hybrid kites go,the rev was atleast top 3 of last year. Did you get out in the end Ali? Quote
SCrowther Posted April 30, 2009 Report Posted April 30, 2009 lei's- you either love em or hate em. personally i love em Jeez wat a lot of rot. You either fly them or you don't. Love has naff all to do with it. fair point, i think i was getting at that anyhoo Quote
