Really enjoyed reading this edition of PK. I got a subscription for Xmas and was a bit sceptical as it seemed to have gone downhill the last few editions of my previous subscription, so was pretty pleased to see it was good :)

Only slight smartarse comment, on p.50 for the Backloop Kiteloop tutorial, I swear he doesn't loop the kite in the pics?

There were 2 sets of photos for the 2 parts of trick, only 1 set was used and wrong set was used!

My guess at the next issue.......advert, advert, something on craig sparkes, advert, advert, more sparkes, advert, advert, kite review that never seems to mention anything negative about anything being tested incase manufacturer of said kite pulls their advertising, more adverts, something featuring everyones favourite used kite seller Alex Brown:rolleyes:, advert, advert, advert, end.

And I'll probably still end up buying a bl00dy copy for toilet reading material

Well I did, and its pretty much as I guessed if a little thinner this issue. 'The Alex Brown Story' - please, please, please, no more on this outrageous knarly dude - or cockmonkey as I prefer to call him;)

......just cover some different faces rather than the usual camera whore. An article on the Aussie fella who was doing the proper buggy-offs?

That was spooky:cool:

If that is what comes in and I like it i'll use it. How about you doing something and sending it in?

Yes Magazine is slightly smaller and less content pages but we are in difficult times. I think we're lucky that we have a magazine to represent the sport we participate in. Imagine if we didn't. Would we get the same development.

sometimes it does repeat a bit , yes , and , more could contribute than do presently , yes , but it is the only mag that promotes the land side of the sport, and i for one shall continue to buy it , to support the sport i spend so much time and money on.....i have every copy from the beginning. ( should i keep that to myself:D).....

If we did owt exciting I may consider it but unfortunately a combination of growing families, jobs, and the field we leased being flooded for the past two years has pretty much brought our group to a standstill. Trips to Sweden, Leucate, etc are all distant memories so I have nowt to write about:(.

I do appreciate that we have a magazine for our sport but we still have to pay for it so its got to have some value for money. We are indeed in difficult times but with the free exposure you give Mr Brown for his attention seeking articles you'd think his employer may at least place the odd advert in the magazine to support it - I can't see they've advertised in the past three issues.

Maybe that's the same for everyone? If no one is getting out or doing anything exciting, it's going to come a bit repetitive, isn't it? As for Alex Brown, if you don't like him, don't read his article... I admit that I've seen half those pictures before and heard quite a lot of it before, but if PK are really stuck for material, what are they meant to do?

Remember, you lot arnt the only people who read the magazine. You make up a percentage of the readership, but thankfully not all of it.

The people who dont have time to waste on internet chat pages, who actually spend thier time kiting, are still buying the magazine and clearly enjoying. Powerkite has great content for the non tech head and your every day kiter - but most of you think you are the sh¦t anyway and all you do is moan like little girls abouts helmets, your muddy field and anything else other people are doing that you are missing out on.

Your average Joe doesnt care who you love or hate this week either. Those people are still travelling and producing news that obveously makes certain members of this website extremely jeleous.

If you think you have a good story, send it in. The editor has called you out; you can better the current content? Then do it.

PK started a newb buggying section at the end of 08, covered two editions with the promise of a third with a specific direction and it never resurfaced to my knowledge.

I think it's plop at the mo'

Sorry.

We have every intention on completing the beginners guide but lots of factors cropped up that made part 3 impossible to do in time. The weather was a major factor, the small matter of my son being born was another. I have also provided other articles that could not make it into this current issue but should be in the next.

It is pretty hard to get motivated to sit at a laptop and come up with a feature when a lot of the time the magazine gets moaned about. No one can deny that the Powerkite does feature several riders more than others but they are the ones providing content. There probably aren't that many mags that rely so heavily on the people in it to provide the content for it and if you really have that much of a problem with it, you can write something yourself. The issues you have with **** weather and busy schedules are the same issues we all have but for the sake of keeping the only land based magazine going, we will continue to provide articles until they are no longer required.

I too have every PK mag from the first to the latest. Yes some are definately better then others but they are all a decent read.

From the chats i have with Si (noserider), his job is a pretty thankless task, he also has other work and kids to contend with so the fact he manages to sort PK out at all is a minor miracle!

Cheers for the acknowledgement Syl,

I'm not unappreciative of how difficult it would be to keep any publication going and credit for those that manage to produce one for a select market. I s'pose my comments were fairly ego-centric anyhow and I was expecting a more acidic response from somewhere (but the aforementioned article did drop off, without notice. I expect I wasn't alone in feeling uninformed)

Everyone's gripes will probably subside as the season progresses: winter is quiet (and frustrating) for everyone. Ya can kiiindaa gett a lil stirrr craaazy. I'm not personally ar$ed about the scene in terms of whether particular riders get more coverage than others, but it does seem this bugs others.

Congrats on the lil' fella in the family too.

I would just like to make two things clear!

Firstly, my picture biatch! my kite and you werent even there that day! ;)

and secondly! i was not utterly rubbish at macho bull**** sand dune gladiators! i have a recurring serious knee injury that meant i couldnt get to the top without being monumentally out of breath!! :D

;)
