We thinking of coming to BLS with a load of cones and trying it out for racing

lol good wind up John...you could put as many cones up as you like, but I don't think there will be many people go round them, there is no interest in racing there at all, if there was they would go to Hoy

hoylake is probably a better idea for cones, as at bls the area is quite restricted due to streams so people get quite pissed off when you take up the majority of the room with a course

And I thought BLS was as big as Hoy:confused:

well it is and it isnt, the area where we tend to use is fairly big but no way as big as hoyake, there is a larger area across a stream but it can quickly fill up cutting you off

the best run is just over 1 mile when there's a good westerly compared to hoylake you could easily go 3+miles

Edit:

arial photo added with approximate flying area without crossing channels though it varies with tide height

Where's House these days....

Morning Carl - still here but been stuffed with work for ages. Fed up of no easts. I had a job at Anderby Creek yesterday and was all set to go buggying after but guess what?

I'm thinking about going for the northerly on Saturday though I may have to work in the morning. Must check the tides.

OK Carl

Anyone else heading for our favourite beach this weekend?

I'm hoping to get there at lunch time for the very deep low tide

Well - some folks have missed out today.

Had a great time at Mable - wind north somewhere around 20 but the beach was spot on - good wide hard stretch all the way to town. Lots of long drifting tacks and some good depth of beach from dunes to sea.

After weeks of spending too much time in front of a PC it felt great to be back out there again.

I think will have to book some time on Wed afternoon if stays as is.
