Glad you enjoyed it Dave. Sometimes we have to wait a long time for the right conditions, but when it's right, it's worth the wait.

The easterlies seem to have deserted us again........had the small bug in the car last night but by the time work was over the wind was dropping too much..:o . Looks like we may have some onshores towards the end of the week...............fingers crossed

That incident resulted in a ban on the nature reserve. If you go to Mablethorpe head up the High Street to the Prom and turn left at the T. Follow the road some way, go past the cinema and where the road bends left, take the right turn to the Ferryman Pub. Here you will find the car park on your right and the path up to the beach just on the right side of the beach shop.

On the beach you have a stretch of the beach left as far as a post where the nature reserve starts and a plaque on this post says no kite buggying. If you are static flying or have a landboard then I don't see why you can't go past the post but would ask that ideally you don't in a buggy. On the right side you can buggy down as far as the outfall near the main prom, but in summer you'l see yellow flags marking the tourist beach which is manned by coastguards. Suggest you keep well away from holidaymakers and ideally keep at the north end of the beach I've described if it's busy - this way there will be no more incidents and hopefully we can all keep flying safely.

In Winter it's a different story - from the nature reserve south to Skeg is possible as long as we respect other beach users - this gives a 16 to 18 mile run and back again - assuming we have the right onshore wind of course.

Hope you enjoy yourself if you do visit and maybe you'll meet up with some of us locals.....:D

does`nt it seem really ironic that the only dangerous kites were being "flown" by sunburnt half pis%ed holiday makers:confused:. I personally had to remind a guy to stay away from other holiday makers after he very nearly speared a young girl and her mum with his cheap little stunt kite(wot a twat). funny there is no restriction on the use of these by the holiday-makers..atvb dave

yer well down at cleethorpes we have to watch it around the tourists but thing is they dont read the signs and walk straight in front or under the kite, or even get there own mini kites out under yours and think that nothing is goin to happen and ive even had some1 sit right in front of me when i was coming towards them buggying which really annoys me so im used to keeping away from them by now. And wwe need to be careful coz we dont wanna go loosing any more spots, as it is we havent got enough right now at all.

winds were bit too strong today, i spent an hour on a field near cleethorpes and got some fair speed going in my buggy with 4m ozone flow. Eventually it was getting too strong so i packed up and went, hoping it calms down a bit next week.

Im going to scarbourgh in the 2 weeks time so any1 know anyplaces down near there or can you direct me to another forum page?

Its a bit late in the day this, but can any body advise on campsites around Mablethorpe for August bank holiday. Ive tried a few but all fully booked. Maybe there a site you know which isnt on the net you could recommend. We have no pets so no probs there.

Perhaps im going to struggle now but its worth a try.

Thanks, Rob.

ps. whats low tide prediction for 28th 29th, 30th and 31st August ?
