Noo Noo Posted December 17, 2009 Report Posted December 17, 2009 oooh I was looking at Windguru and XC. Far less optimistic. Anyway where we eating Saturday? Pub, Chinese or Indian. Pub might be better for me as Little'un maybe coming with me (not 100% yet). If he does you lot have a mission to start him getting interested in kiting. I need support here!! Quote
Spudley Posted December 17, 2009 Report Posted December 17, 2009 Just seen the forecast on BBC. Could be snow and wind, might have to get the snowboard out and work out where would work. Quote
snap1 Posted December 18, 2009 Report Posted December 18, 2009 Yes NooNoo Sat would be cool with me, what time are we thinking? Pub is fine with me! Jena was interested in kiting but a pain for me as she liked to fly the kite then let go and laugh, muggins has to run after it LOL. Show him the 5 year old dude kite surfing with his dad. I wish I had a snow board and the day off work BTW got the trampa board yesterday, wow it's awesome I can see why they cost so much now. Can't wait to try it! Quote
Noo Noo Posted December 18, 2009 Report Posted December 18, 2009 I'm easy guys but definately looking forward to it. Great to grab some grub as a gang. Always happy days. provisionally 7pm / 8pm? Don't know, don't care. Just good to catch up. Quote
Spudley Posted December 27, 2009 Report Posted December 27, 2009 Thinking of getting out for a fly tomorrow. Anyone else up for it? Quote
DjMoz Posted December 27, 2009 Author Report Posted December 27, 2009 Whats happening guys?? looks windy today Killer session yesterday, tried the 10m early and put it down again, proabably 35-40 kn gusty. Went out a couple of hours later in nice 30kn for a few hours, feeling it now but good fun out in real waves, if not tough. Have a good one Spud. Quote
mark o Posted December 27, 2009 Report Posted December 27, 2009 Spud, I'll be up for a session DM, sounds like you are having a real good time. Has the sun arrived also or is it wet and windy? Hope you had a good Christmas day with the spanish ladies Quote
snap1 Posted December 28, 2009 Report Posted December 28, 2009 Would love to have come out today, though verry chillie. Visitng Clare's auntie Had an awsome land session over at Cleeve hill Cheltenham met a few there, was very gusty that day though I was told directon did not help. Nailed the front role now and even front role kite loop twice non intentional need to let go of that back hand lol! DM nice to hear from you, what happened to the DJMoz blog for us to read and weep over at work. Van still holding out? Quote
Spudley Posted December 28, 2009 Report Posted December 28, 2009 Today was a no-go as far as the wind was concerned. back to work tonight but will keep an eye on things and perhaps squeeze a redbull session in. Quote
Noo Noo Posted December 29, 2009 Report Posted December 29, 2009 Crap. I've turned into a bogey factory. Sore throat, the works. Snap your progress worries me. I will seriously need to pull my finger out. DM keep it going fella. Quote
DjMoz Posted December 31, 2009 Author Report Posted December 31, 2009 Anyone recognise this guy?? He looks vaguely familier... the crazy eyes, cut his hair short and...?? http://forum.kitecrowd.com/kitesurfing/anyone-remember-movie-waynes-world-176256.html Seems OR like a certain type of rider. Regards for the new year all see you in 2010. Winds here in Tarifa are pretty strong, plenty of 10m usage, wimped out today though 30-40kn. My Raley type move is coming along nicely and playing in the waves is fun. Otherwise just wasting time. Snap not much of a blog to keep, nothing to keep you too jealous, all fairly dull other than some good kiting days, I am fairly happy just chilling in the van at a campsite for the last week. Not much action after I left Brittany until I got to Sagres, Portugal and then I had another little session in portugal further along. It has been cool in tarifa as I have had a few good sessions in the last week and a nice group of people at the campsite, all sorts and a few windsurfers and kitesurfers. We more or less have an empty section of the beach to ourselves which means it is not crowded. I must remember to get pics!! D Quote
snap1 Posted December 31, 2009 Report Posted December 31, 2009 Glad to hear your enjoying it DM! Chilled is good. Happy new year all! Quote
mark o Posted January 3, 2010 Report Posted January 3, 2010 DM, sounds like you are having a great time. Where are the pictures?!? Sold my Ozone's to a fella that lives just one junction up the M3 who's looking to get on the water so we may have added company sometime. Quote
snap1 Posted January 3, 2010 Report Posted January 3, 2010 Nice 1 Marko, are you going for the lights again or looking at others? So any one get out over the holidays? Was hoping for a land session today but winds were poor, need to get out on the wet stuff again but it's timing the wind and now the temperature, it's gonna be cold! NooNoo, I fancy a little excursion to Wales, Black Rock etc. When the weather creeps above sub zero LOL, a sneeky camp over in the car for an early session or even a weekend. Need to get a couple of sessions in a row to progress, struggle with few random sessions to try new stuff. Quote
Noo Noo Posted January 4, 2010 Report Posted January 4, 2010 Happy New year all What's it worth Snap? Are you prepared to sell your soul to visit the Holy Grail of UK kiting? By the way, I don't think the Blck Rock campsite is open until March. I'll have to check, something with the local councils not allowing campsites to be open all year. Stopping permanent residency I think. Otherwise be ready. Me going kite crazy this year. We just need to get through this cold snap. I might also be looking for a ski / snowboard excursion if anyone fancies it. The snow has got me drooling again............ Marko. New toys then. What ya fancy fella? DM. good on ya bud, Hmm haven't seen the interview yet. Editors license obviously. Oh yes. After the success (again) of our little food excursion I recommend we make it a regular thingy. Anyone fancy one this weekend coming? I can try and sell Marko some OR's and he can tell me how big he want's to go. Quote
mark o Posted January 4, 2010 Report Posted January 4, 2010 NN, looking to boost big... real big. I reckon 3ft Quote
Noo Noo Posted January 4, 2010 Report Posted January 4, 2010 Excellent, that's 3x bigger than you are currently. Go on my son Quote
mark o Posted January 4, 2010 Report Posted January 4, 2010 Makes me feel better, I thought my expectations were higher than 3x given my common nose diving. Quote
Noo Noo Posted January 4, 2010 Report Posted January 4, 2010 Well I'm not sure i can recommend an OR RISE. I've jumped a unproven 3 foot 6 inches on it. Awesome I can tell you, completely different view from up there Quote
mark o Posted January 4, 2010 Report Posted January 4, 2010 Seriously thou', have you had an opportunity to fly it since the meala few weeks ago. If so what are your thoughts on it? Quote
Spudley Posted January 5, 2010 Report Posted January 5, 2010 Snow forecast for tonight/tommorrow and a fairly good east wind to go with it. Thinking Basing Common could be worth a look for anyone with Skis or snowboards:) Any other suggestions for locations? Quote
Noo Noo Posted January 5, 2010 Report Posted January 5, 2010 Seriously thou', have you had an opportunity to fly it since the meala few weeks ago. If so what are your thoughts on it? Unfortunately not Mark, well not properly anyway. (1 waste of time effort doesn't count) but I've had 3 serious sessions on the 11m RISE and I'm happy (for a change) I just need to find the right line length combo and stuff to suit my style. Just to add some consolation I've laid the 11m over the top of a 14m 2010 Flexi Ion. The physical differences are very subtle but I can't compare how they are in the air. Thoughts are pretty much the same as before. Low end for me will be around the 15mph mark. That's pretty much proven with the wasted effort I've had and I am honestly surprised at how well it jumps in low wind. It's a very easy piece of kit to get on with too. I'm here this weekend and if you fancy a fly in a field some where let me know Quote
snap1 Posted January 5, 2010 Report Posted January 5, 2010 Wish I followed through and bought a snowboard off ebay last time it snowed Would be good to grab a meal again NooNoo, maybe we can start to get discount cards at the Raj lol Quote
mark o Posted January 6, 2010 Report Posted January 6, 2010 NN, ski/snowboard session? Sally and myself may well be interested, for me all I need is a learner slope Quote
snap1 Posted January 6, 2010 Report Posted January 6, 2010 Have u got a snow board Marko? Few hills in Tadley, just tried it on an old mountain board deck, was alright with Jena's weight, yes I pushed my daughter down a snowy hill on it hey she liked it LOL. Quote
