bartiebat1599968741 Posted November 30, 2009 Report Posted November 30, 2009 (edited) I spent the entire day driving around with a car full of stuff waiting for the rain to stop & every time it did, it just started again To be fair, I couldn't do water in more than 30mph at the moment though - 8m Charger should be here next week though, might be ok then How was Kinmel Bay by the way Jim? Only live 500m from there & still never made it in the water! Edited November 30, 2009 by bartiebat Quote
Bigbud Posted November 30, 2009 Report Posted November 30, 2009 Really good Some big waves but there was plenty of room between them Been there when its dead on shore and there are two huge lagoons with perfect flat water. Tis good you should try it (Also you need a small Lei for days like yesterday so you can get out, ShHhhh we won't tell anybody ) Quote
mac Posted November 30, 2009 Report Posted November 30, 2009 Hi fellas, you should have gone to Colwyn bay. I meet tom and had a blast. The wind was cross on and 19 knots and it was as flat as a pancake. It soon got up to about 24 knots, which was interesting on my 13 mt strike. Rain, your going to get wet any way, but hail stings the back of me neck. Tom get yourself some boots and gloves and youl be well toasty. Mac. Quote

jamesthebat Posted November 30, 2009 Report Posted November 30, 2009 Gutted i didnt go to LLigwy, Llanddona, Colwyn Bay or Kinmel Bay on Sunday i considered them all in the end the hangover won,i didnt get to the beach till 3pm. We went off Penmaenmawr. Cross shore, big waves, 30knots plus and gusty as sin. The orme and conwy headland were straight upwind and doing strange things to the wind, still managed some big ass airs before getting blown off the beach 30mins later. i think any of the beaches above would have been a better choice. Live and learn Quote
wind-seeker Posted November 30, 2009 Report Posted November 30, 2009 theres always next time james, hopefully not too long away :-) to be fair me and karl did get blown off the water in lligwy, it just picked up till it was no longer fun, but doesnt sound as bad as penmaenmawr was Quote

Plezzy Posted December 4, 2009 Report Posted December 4, 2009 Anyone thinking of landbased action this weekend? Might just trek out to BRS on Sun. HW is 1030 so sea should be starting to give up some playing area from 1pm shouldn't it? Quote
bartiebat1599968741 Posted December 4, 2009 Report Posted December 4, 2009 aarrrggghh, now I don't knw! Westshore has a high high tide at a really inconvenient time of day so that's out for me, so it's Rhossy, Newboro or BRS? BRS is sooooo far but oh so big & can do a bit of wetsuit landboarding, but it's still sooo far! Erm, erm erm...Doddy?? Where you going matey? Plezzy, not sure, isnt it a tad mental? Quote

bartiebat1599968741 Posted December 5, 2009 Report Posted December 5, 2009 As the icicles melted down my back, from the water that only wasn't frozen solid because there were so many waves, I gave up looking for these lagoons you speak of Sam, but had a fun day out kiting in the rain on Craig's blimp (sshhh, don't tell Mr Lynn!). Ta for the lesson Craig Quote
