    Rhombus Firebee 5.5M

I bought the firebee because I wanted a cheap kite that would lift me .They seem robustly built except for the bridle which soon had small loops of thread coming out of it.

I added power rings which definately improved things. The kite held its shape better which speeded its flight which in turn produced more power... nice. Now these kites do like to be kept moving around the middle of the wind window to stop them luffing.Get too near the edge and if you do not turn the kite it will luff instantly. They produce plenty of lift but again beware of them collapsing as they will easily overfly.

I would recommend these kites to beginners who are prepared to learn how to fly a kite skillfully as it will keep you on your toes(literally!).When static flying you can concentrate solely on the kite and learn to recover from luffs.with a very stable kite you would not learn this as quickly so moving to a more race styled kite could become frustrating. If I was only static flying and wanted a new cheap then I would choose a firebee 5.5.

So do I still have the bee? No,sold it and bought a second hand 4.9 blade instead.more stable, more power, more lift.Learning to kite groundboard with an unstable kite was just too difficult.
