    Best Yarga 20M

Picked up a used 20m yarga in Feb 2005 for a great price right from BEST. I kited with it a bit in the winter and in the spring.

I dont think this is a very good kite because of its small wind window and its hard to manage size.

It weighs about 15 lbs so I needed about 15kph just to get it off the ground. The max wind is spec'd at 25kph so its a very small wind window. Once I added a fifth line and played with it a bit it was real easy to flip the kite onto its back and water relaunch it.

Unfortunately it tore in half where the fifth line attaches to it while trying to flip it over one time. I hadnt ever crashed the kite hard or abused it and had never been out in winds over 20kph. Since I am a beginner however, I probably flipped it onto its back using the 5th line ~100 times. I guess it wasnt designed to take that. I was disappointed nonetheless. I'm still waiting after a mongth on word back from BEST on if the tear is fixable (I doubt it). I expect the smaller kites would last for more relaunches because they would need less force to flip over.

In the meantime I bought a 13m flysurfer and had it out once. Sweet! The steering on that is light enough you can actually turn it with one hand. You can even launch it backwards. I'm looking forward to trying it out some more but thats another review...

20m yarga and you are a begginner? why would you buy such a large kite? should know that all 20m c kites are a bit crap to be honest.
