  6. I have recently started kiting and caught the bug. I am looking to take a holiday next year, with the main goal of learning to Kitesurf. Does anyone know if there are specific kiting holiday's avaiable from a reputable source? Can anyone suggest an ideal location?
  7. I'm sorry, but we're all out!
  8. I think I need to set some standards to eliminate variables. In a standard 20mph (not 20 million) wind with minimal gusting; NO buggies or boards, just you and the kite on a beach looking for airtime and dragging; 1) Which kite will offer the most verticle pull? 2) Which kite will offer the most horizontal lift? and finally 3) Which kite is the best for both? Answers on an SAE We'll included a free Blue Peter badge aswell

  12. Can anyone help me? I have just got into power kiting and heard that there is a magazine published, but not generally available in the shops. 13. I wanted to fly my kite on an oil rig helideck but the boss wouldn't let me.
  14. I jumped a pathetic 5ft in the air and a not so pathetic 15ft forward. I say jump, but I actually mean I was pulled 5ft in the air and 15ft forward. It was my first time power kiting with my first kite.
  15. Monday: Middle of the North Sea. More wind than you can shack a stick at and I'm not allowed a bloody kite incase I 'fall in the sea' !! As if that would happen??? LOL
  16. Brand new Bullet 4.5m for my first kite at the beach and I'd never even flown a power kite before. Checked the wind while we were setting up and it was 20mph. I was having a great time, then the wind got up, but at ground level we were sheltered by some sand dunes. Tide was coming in and a gust caught me. Up arond 5ft, but forward 15ft. Landed fine and the I just let go of the kite. It ended up in the sea, the day was over (kite needed washing). Checked the windspeed on the top of the dune. 36mph with gust of up to 47mph. I'll not try that wind speed for a while.

    Cairngorm

I was up there in Feb aswell. I don't think I would have considered kiting up there. We had a guided and had the ice axes and crampons on. Low visibilty and so cold my breath was freezing. A bit to unprdictable up there. Craikey is right, you need to be a pretty competent winter walker to even think about taking a kite up!!
