  1. Wow tumble weed.... @Rob yep you've got it. Weston Shore, Lords Hill, Hudsons Field (Salisbury) are your best bets for land stuff round here. Otherwise come down to Calshot in the spring & learn to kitesurf.... lots of space on the water & no mud, dogs, pikeys, gusts or hard landings. Dan
  2. Another +1 for the Madisson Boots here. The split toe is nice when your strapless 'cos the boot can't roll & stays put. Having a separate big toe isn't quite as warm when its properly baltic - you lose the collective warmth from the rest of your toes. That said they are fine till it gets really cold in the middle of winter, then you can try the 7mm Mistral Hots Dan
  3. Hi Phil, The yellow nose line from the center of the leading edge should extend down to a point level with the wingtips. If the center of the LE looks flattened or pulled down while its flying then you probably need to make the nose line a bit longer. Your Torch will be a bit less stable at 12 in light/gusty wind than your old Cults, so keep it over to the side of the window. Dan
  4. Hi, The Naish Torch will fly fine on any of the Naish Shift 5 line bars. If you could let us know what bar you're using & what the exact problem your having is, we can be more specific. Dan www.24-7boardsports.com
  5. Can't comment on the Luigi, but I've got the Monk Forever on demo in the shop. I was initially a bit concerned that they were changing the original monk shape. But this one is really nice & it looks like they have tested properly & haven't just changed stuff for the sake of it. The changes are small, the outline is tweaked a bit & the flex has apparently been changed slightly throughout the sizes. Fortunately the chop eating characteristics that were so good on the original are still there. This one has bags of grip & drive & it feels a little more 'planted' on the water than the first monk. I think it's a smidge faster & more efficient too, although it's a size up on the old one we had. The new Sneaker-X pads & straps are a big improvement! They are nice & narrow so they do a good job of keeping my feet in. If I was looking for a new stick for general hooning about in Solent chop, it would either be this or the new Slingy Asylum. If you want to demo Shinn boards, we've got Monk 132, Supershinn 136, Dundee 133 on the water. Also got a Jaime 2013 136 & that Slingshot Asylum 138 for you to try. Dan www.24-7boardsports.com
  6. [Pimp mode] 24-7 Boardsports have a nice 12m Park 2013 on the water for you to try. We also have stock of the 2013 park. [/Pimp mode]
  7. Lol lesson police alert! Grab a lesson just to cover the site assessment bits, the emergency recovery stuff & the setup on LEIs. If you can landboard you'll find the cross over fairly easy, especially if you can find some flattish water to practice on. Kite wise most of them are fairly well built, anything about 12 or 13m from 2009 or newer & describing itself as 'freeride' should be OK. If in doubt just ask on here or in your local kite shop Don't get too small a board. Big is beautiful if you are a 16stone beginner - minumum 140x42. Aloha Dan 24-7
  8. [quote=;2370072]I have an11m Bandit 1 and 7m Bandit dos. i would save your money and buy a couple of dos rather than 4 or 5's Then you are missing out... B4 or 5 are faster, more efficient & definitely more stable than the early bandits. There are some great offers on them out there now before the B6 is out. Still you pays your money & takes your pick
  9. Saw the new Asylum yesterday - Looking sweeet. Rocker - check, channels - check, GREEN - check
  10. lol I tried an old viokite for a bit....
  11. Up up up... more photos of this kite coming soon!

  14. For Sale 12m 2012 Slingshot Rally complete & ready to go. Great condition, I look after my kit. I'm no hardcore freestyler & it's not been dropped in any waves. No holes, repairs, stains, leaks or other problems. White canopy is still really white! Always packed away dry & sand free New depower rope on the bar. Bar washed after every use. More pics available on request - or come down & see me at Calshot. NB this is my own kite & not for sale via 24-7. £699 posted 8m & matching girl not included
  15. The Evo would be ok if it's still in good nick & the price is right. Rebel is 5 line & a bit trickier to relaunch possibly. What sizes are you looking at & how much do you weigh? Dan
  16. I'd rather see someone pumping up a 6m & for them to be a bit underdone in the lulls, than go out with an 8m thinking they can 'handle it' in the gusts. OP should take it real easy in higher winds, whatever the kite size. Everything happens much quicker when the wind is high. Minimize the risks - go out with competent friends at very safe spots that they know well & have kited in better conditions. Check you lines & test your safety on the small kite. A lid & impact jacket might not be a bad plan either... plan for the worst, hope for the best & enjoy the ride! Personally I love kiting on the right size kite in a bit of a blow, hence the 4m. I come off the water fully buzzed from kiting with such a fast responsive kite.
  17. 6m will be fine if its not too gusty. We were out last night on 4m kites (Catalyst & Rally), fully lit & it was fine. Boosts, loops, spins, big fast carves. However lots of wind & small kit isn't ideal if you're new to the water. However if you have a surfboard & you can get out with the 6m in lighter wind it will be gold Dan
  18. erm, doesn't North's 'Quad Trust Bar' use a double front line system? Otherwise, yes single front line safety is a better bet to totally kill the kite. Its also the system required (by BKSA) when teaching kitesurfing. Whatever system you have, it'll only help if you're totally familiar with how it works with your kite - before you need to use it for real. Worth checking before you hit the water, that its not corroded or gunked up with sand. Dan
  19. Ok I'll see what I can find for you. Dan
  20. Hey dude, You're right, Torches (and the Alliance) are best flown on a shift bar. Other Naish kites fly on the 4 line SLE/Universal bars. Fortunately you can use ANY age of shift bar with a torch, as the line geometry hasn't changed since its introduction. I have an assortment of new old-stock shift & double depower shift bars starting at £129.99 - which is about the same price as a set of lines....... I'll have a look in the back & see if I can find any used/exdemo shift bars. What size kite is it for? If you want any advice on the differences between the various years etc give us a buzz in the shop. We have various lengths of bars & lines in stock & we carry a big stock of Naish spares. 22. Not a kite, but just got a new V3 Airush Sector 66
  23. Catalyst 4 or 6m would be good options. Would work on your current ozone bar. Both a bit more easy going than the c4. 6m in lighter winds would be good place to start once she can keep a trainer in the air. Dan
  24. Yeah, Jonnie Eisler is quick for repairs. We send repairs to him from 24-7.
