  1. Is there such thing as a properly made tandem buggy seat which would attach to the rear of a buggy, for seating an under 10. Or is this practise a bit dangerous? I saw quite a few youngsters on the back of buggies at Wallop. None of the lashed together seats(some with wheels) looked paticually safe. Specially if you were to have an o.b.e.
  2. I only ever use a bar for static flying or buggying. Hook into a harness when buggying and you only need to use one hand to steer the kite. Use the other hand to help pull yourself over and lean against the pull of the kite. Leaning and pulling like this makes easy work of going upwind. Any way, I am ****e at using handles, so I don't really have a choice
  3. Get a Ford Galaxy. Just weel your buggy straight in the back. No problems.
  4. Had my first OBE (out of buggy experience) on Monday, whilst hooked into a harness. There was certainly no time to think about unhooking and letting go. One minute I was scrubbing off some speed ready to stop, the next thing I know is I was looking down at the ground, thinking "christ I have been in the air a long time. This is going to hurt". I was right! I had my car keys in my pocket as well. Nice bruise about the size of a small frizbee on my thigh and can't move my shoulder properly. I am now looking at improving the quick release pin on my harness strop, but if you are powered up, it will not matter. you won't have time to unhook. I learnt a lesson. When in a buggy, don't turn your back on a blade 4.9!
  5. Has any one tried this kite yet. Am thinking of getting one for my 6 year old. Just wondering if it is any good or if it is suitable for a 6 year old
  6. I have started to buggy using a bar. All my kites are all set up on bars. I get on much better buggying with the bar, because I am used to static flying and boarding this way. I have a quadrafoil harness at the moment, but it is a bugger to get hooked in while sitting down. Unhooking is not a problem. While sitting down, the roller on my harness is sitting on my groin, and I have to lift it up to hook in. What is a good harness to use with standard flexi bars and strops.
  7. Any one know of any good flying sites in the Northampton area?
  8. What Is A Good Kite For High Wind Days. I Went Out A While Ago On A Windy Day With My Smallest Kite (blade 3 3m) And I Was Quite Over Powered. Will Something Around The 2m Size Be Big Enough?
  9. I always used to wear a harnwss when static flying, until I had a go on some one elses kite without one. I felt so naked and uncomfortable without the harness, I had to give the kite right back. It took me a while to get used to flying without it again. I had to feel confident that I was strong enough to handle the kite without my body weight to help me. What I am trying to say is yes a harness is the way to go, but don't become too dependant on it. You will be a much better kite flyer if you can fly off the harness.
  10. 8.5m on handles for boarding. It turns like a dream if you have the brakes tuned just right. I always use kite killers. I am a new 8.5 owner and I am still very nervous of it. If you just want to fly and jump, use it on a bar with a harness. You will only be able to hold onto it for a few minutes without a harness. Be careful with a harness if you are going to fly it in anything for than a gnats fart of wind. Once again, I use the wrist kite killer with the bar. Obviously won't work if you are hooked into a harness!
  11. Do you really want to sell the bar. I could take it off your hands
  12. I'm newish to landboarding. I have used a 3m blade on a bar in windy conditions. In less windy conditions, I tried the 4.9 and the 8.5 on a bar. They kept falling out of the sky every time I tried to turn them up and down to keep them in the power. It takes quite a long time to turn these buggers in low wind on a bar. Would I be better off using handles onTwas enough wind to get me going, they just died whenever I tried to lift them up. Could it be that there was just not enough wind? and down like when you work a smaller kite. I was under the impression that a bigger kite for low wind, but you need more wind to get the big fellas off the floor. Any advice would be welcome.
  13. I would like to fit a speedo to my furnace creek II. Has anyone got any sugestions on what speedos would work the best and any advice on fitting them would be more than welcome
  14. I was like you. I had flown super 10's for a number of years, then wanted to get into four line traction kites. I went straigth for the 4.9 and I know I will never get bored of it like some of the smaller ones. My advice is to take a kite like this out in a gnats chuff of wind for the first few outings to get the feel of it and to find out what it is capable of. If you do not treat it with great respect, it could do you, or someone else, some seriouse harm. Don't do what I did on my first outing. Lauched it right in the middle of the wind on a windy day! 10m sprint, followed by about 4-5 feet of very uncontrolled air, followed by a big thud!Packed up and went home straight away to put on some clean boxers. Seriously, It scared the crap out of me. From that day on, it was treated with great respect. Build up confidence slowly, and don't be tempted to get it out on days with more wind than you can handle. Hope this helps
