  1. hmmmm... could be your bearings need some grease.....
  2. As the title suggests...what is a useful kite for 25+mph winds on hard sand ? For me, 'useful' means been able to place the kite in the power zone and not get yanked 10 metres forward....but perhaps 2-3 meters forward ... I've tried the 1.5 and 2.5 bullets .. definitely worked in stupidly fierce winds. But what else could there be ? What do they fly like? Much thanx.
  3. Taz.. I learnt to board (I am 6ft 3) on a bog standard entry level MBS ...80 cm in length...7 inch 'rims'....non-adjustable trucks - extremely unstable at any decent speed......and i love her to this day ! I still use the board regularly - cos if you master something like this...you can go all the faster / higher / further on a better board later on....and it also offers a nice thrill in lighter winds....
  4. I can only say that in 19-21 mph winds, and with the kites you are flying, you should be hitting warp speed on a landboard. I usually ride hard sand...so i dont get much resistance... the hint about letting the air pressure down sounds good to me though..
  5. cheers fellas.
  6. Golmiddleman.... I have to admit, wihtout the use of a harness, i am looking more like chimpanzee arms than nuclear arms !!! and put your 1.5 back in your girlfriends toiletry bag for f**k's sake !!!
  7. nice one snake man.... tide times seem perfect....lets pray that the god of wind concurs along with bad dad !
  8. cheers lardyb.. and as for you, Mr Freak... for your cheek, I hope to shortlly fill your gums with sand and buring rubber.. but thanks for the link btw...
  9. wolfy...heh heh heh....like it.....saw about 20 wonderfully crafted flying paddling pools only last weekend....nice to giv ethem a proper name... Grant - Thats a real help. Thanks. Appreciated.
  10. ok. get it.
  11. cheers snake bite - I have replied to you on the other forum (forget which one now !)..
  12. I'll give you a ring this week. nice 1. btw - are there a few P's going spare??? might have a couple of candidates for the post pretty soonish !!!!
  13. hey snakebite.. we may be able to get there this weekend - sat and sun...(8th and 9th). I'm going in for knee op the week after so I'll bust a gut to get down there this weekend. cheers for the help.
  14. Thanks for the replies. Very helpful. Very stupid question - LEI ? Whats it stand for..? I've been 'Blade-ing' since June and now feel pretty compitent. Been 'land' boarding since July - flying along, with 2-3ft jumps (high)...so I feel very comfortable in stronger winds with Blade and board... I know I will need a water launchable at some stage - so further advice needed = which one ? Now this will sound like a singles advert.... I am 6ft 2. 13 stone. Very athletic (ie pick things up quickly - good power / arm strength). very little fear of 'pushing the boat out'. .. I tell you all this cos I dont want a beginners kite...I want to get massive air and also lightening speed - recommendations?? also - whilst a range of kites will be needed (and aquired) over time..what has a good wind range as a first kite ? Really do appreciate you guys listening, and responding to my ramblings... J.
  15. Hi All. I am getting a Kiteboard for Chrimbo, but will not be able to get a water launchable for some time after. I will be using a blade 3 4.9. How am I going to find this ? What will I need to be careful of (apart from landing it in the drink)? Appreciate any advice from those who have used a Blade to kitesurf.
  16. Me and my mate have heard great things about the terrain in Pendine and we want to pay the place a visit very shortly.... Can one/all of you local boys / girls give us some info on the local conditions..including the onshore wind direction..plus the nearest port (to find out tide times) please ? Most grateful.

  20. Quote: "Maintenance isn't exactly my middle name" Maybe not. But S. Y. M. certainly is...
  21. Thats good advice PP. Appreciate it. Flew one yesterday (1st Oct) 15-30. oh my goodness.
  22. cheers Pugs. So - the B3 is more stable ? What difference is there in lateral pull and lift ? The reason I ask is I love my B2 4.9 - very aggressive kite. I am getting into Kitesurfing (currently just got an ATB / MB) and like the sound of the vents to release water. But I also love skudding and jumping and want the ability to do this with a Blade 3. Will it happen, seeing as it is a different kite altogether ??
  23. I shall rephrase my question [at the risk of upseting BLADE3K, see This is not a blade contest thread], , as follows. What difference is there between a B2 and a B3 in action? Factual response's from flyers who OWN both kites please.
  24. Now that the B3 has been around for a while, can anyone who changed from a B2 to a B3 comment on the enhancements ? Cheers
  25. Nice 1. I've been given a board - its got a flexi-deck and its' also 'loose' on the trucks. I am new to this so Im probably getting all the words wrong..and or the wrong way around... Just practice then...I just feel like I need a stiffer board at the mo...
