  1. ceap = cheap when I type too quickly
  2. Granted I would have gone for a 10.5 but the decider was cash so I went for the 9m. It's good enough for the time I use it - did want a 10.5 though.
  3. i don't use a cross-over so relative so my other foils it's quite slow. But, it's around the same speed as the Cabrinhas so I guess I'm just used to it. Don't expect it to whip around the window though.
  4. Got a new (ceap) Blade II 9m and I was amazed how it flew so well and pulled in absolutely no wind. I swear I couldn't even feel it on my face but up it went. Sooooo glad I bought it, no longer have to sit there just watching the summer breezes and I can use it to kitesurf when everybody else is grounded !
  5. I just got my 9m complete from Trick of the Eye for about £350 so thanks to Carl !
  6. Is it worth while keeping or should I sell it? I have grown out of it but should I keep it as a backup, I could do with the money to fund the Blade I just bought.
  7. Looking that I have a 5.5 Firebee would you suggest the 7.8 or 9m Blade? I'm used to big kites (12 & 16m Cabrinha's), I'd just like to get one more land foil to cover the range of really light winds.
  8. Would a 7.8m or 9m Blade II (with cross-over) be suitable ?
  9. What would be the best kite to go for when the wind is really low? I could go for a larger Firebee but I believe the weight at that size becomes a problem. With the summer breezes I'm finding the 5.5m isn't enough. Any ideas / suggestions ? Thanks
  10. What type do you wear? Bump and Jump / Excess / your own. What are the benefits, I know the Bump and Jump are padded but what about others. Also, who sells them?
  11. There are generally a large number of people at Rhosneigr most weekends willing to help launch/land and offer tips.
  12. It was just over £300 for an intensive 5 day course with Alex but he'll tailor it to your needs - less days or more.
  13. I had a course of lessons with Alex and can recommend him. He'll get you going in no time. Mcarthur, where are you based in Cheshire? I can be found in Lymm and wouldn't mind some company to watch me fall off a lot.
  14. Bags are the right idea but I'm looking more for a large holdall type with wet section rather than a rucksack. I think Da Kine make one but I can't find any. Any other ideas?
  15. Looking at those two links now. Thed CO2's are fantastic, very stable with a large wind range. So, with the 12m and 16m I'm pretty much covered as a beginner. The safety system is solid and reliable. I found that although the CO2's may not be as nimble as others (remember they are low aspect-ish) I can't see me growing out of them quickly. Put it this way, I got my first air, completely unintentional but I wasn't worried, the kite just lowered me back down, carried on............and then I fell over. The kite seems to find it's own way back to the top of the window, ready to go again.
  16. Can anyone suggest makes and/or suppliers of kit bags? - not for kites but for everything else, preferebly one with a wet section for wetsuits and stuff. I can't seem to find any anywhere. The bigger the better !!
  17. This may sound extreme but I know Alex Trritten uses household bleach in his boots to get rid of the stink. Obviously you need to give them a good rinse before putting them on but it seems to work.
  18. I currently fly a 3.5m on a bar with a mountainboard. Granted I'm using it as a kitesurf trainer but its much easier than with handles. The bar with anything higher than 1.5m is much better and allows for quicker packing up due to the firmer horns on each end. You'll need a harness though.
  19. I'll be watching the Nationals. In fact I'm at Rhosneigr this weekend having "Newbie" lessons !
