    buggy

with respect, u wont stand out much in a v max cus there r so many of them around. not knocking them tho as they r a good buggy. i went for a cameleon iguana which u can pick up for around £800 new or £500 second hand. they are bl00dy heavy tho & not that easy to transport due to the massive axle that is wider than the average car. on the plus side, there are very few about & it does turns heads wherever i go. u could also look at Evolution buggies & get a custom one built or the Parastorm if u've got money to burn.

    The Bullet

a similar conversation going on here to sum it up... the bullet is a gr8 buggy engine but not so good for boarding cus it produces very little lift
  3. its a buggy engine & a gr8 one at that because it produces very little lift & plenty of traction with a smooth power delivery & excellent upwind performance. 4 boarding tho, its the lift that helps u balance & get air which is why the blade is the no.1 choice. i've lent my kite to a number of ppl (havent been able to try it out properly myself yet due to injury), the buggyers loved it & the boarders didn't.
  4. sorry to dissapoint u but u deffo made the wrong decision if u want to board & get air... u shudda bought the 2nd hand blade! WTF did u post a question & not wait for ne1 to answer b4 hastily buying the wrong kite
  5. phil... i think i may buy another kite with all the money i've just saved ps. thnx 4 the atv's btw. got the wife to stand on them & they popped on a treat
  6. yeh... but there isnt a 29th... its not a leap year
  7. yup... u summed it up nicely! p.s. hope they keep ur review online. my review of the raptor was overwritten by someone elses review within a couple of days btw... spamming threads across multiple forums may pi55 a few ppl off. plz refrain in future. thnx.
  8. its my sons birthday on the 29th which means i dont have to buy him a pressie this year
  9. the flexi one's do look good & may well be better than those sold at coastguard kites. havent tried mine out yet but i dont see any reason why they cant be conncted via larks head knots to the ends of the brake line ropes coming out of the bottom of ur handles. that way they would be a doddle to remove without having to disconnect the lines amd could be transfered from one kite to another in seconds.
  10. a wise choice if i say so myself... why pi55 about in a fiesta when u can afford a vectra! (jon ducks for cover )
  11. i fell into the same trap about a year ago i bought my 1st buggy, the pl comp original, which set me back about £225 shortly afterwards, i bought the long downtube for £45 because i found it cramped my style having been tipped out a number of times i then decided to buy the wide axle for £80 so, £350 later (almost the cost of a v-max!), i still had a buggy that was uncomfortable to sit in and rattled at speed i was tempted to get a powerspring to make it more comfortable but decided to cut my losses so sold it for £250 & bought a libra instead had i taken advice off ppl on the forum 1st, i would probably saved myself a great deal of money & a lot of back ache
  12. too windy for the butch orange kite on saturday... got a nice pic of the manly red one tho http://mysite.freeserve.com/flexi_sig/images/1-picture1.gif
  13. gotta be the libra... or maybe the flexi i'm the same height as u & felt very cramped in my pl comp so eventually chopped it in for a special. very comfy & solid buggy but does scruff up easily due to the powder coating the flexi may be better if u want to do tricks & stuff. the libra is much heavier making it difficult to get up onto 2 wheels but it does make it more stable at speed
  14. that's the one... the guy's some sort of engineer/mechanic or something which would explain the excellent built quality i haven't seen him there at all this year... i know his wife gave birth to their 2nd child before christmas or maybe the 2003 membership fee has put him off going
  15. blades & buggies deffo dont mix - far too much lift IMO, get urself a 3.5 bullet which will get your buggy moving nicely in wind speeds anywhere between 8 & 20 mph much cheeper than a blade too
  16. there's a regular flyer at eXtreme in worcester who has made something similar but with flexi seat & wheels - much more comfortable it's the db's... very stable & he's even made a tandem seat (making it a 6 wheel buggy!) to hook up & give his kids a ride will take a photo next time he's there & post it on this thread
  17. i stand corrected... didnt realise the pagona was bigger than the iguana. cool photo's
  18. i think u'll find that its basically an iguana with bigfoot wheels & forks
  19. there's a photo of mine in the sig below & i've attached a larger photo for ur viewing pleasure...
  20. having flown my 3.5 bullet for the 1st time on sunday, i recon that it could be a handful in anything much over 17mph wind - they appear to generate a lot more traction than equivalent sized blades. i got my heavy buggy moving (albeit slowly & by hoofing the kite about) in less than 5mph wind! IMO - i think the 4.5 might be just a bit too big for average winds with a lightweight buggy so you may be better off opting for the 3.5 - its cheeper too jon
  21. got them from my_favourite_supplier.co.uk & they were £34.95 each. look them up under 'Buggy Parts' menu & 'Libre' sub-menu, they r about ½ way down the page.
  22. thanx sparhawk... i had considered doing just that but thought that a tyre-extractor-machine-thingy may not fit the small wheels or may only be suitable for metal rims. i'll look up a local tyre place in the yellow pages then. cheers 4 ur help guys.
  23. i've ordered two ATV tyres from coastguard & am expecting delivery today or tomorrow... now call me thick (i'm a whiz with electronics but supid when it comes to anything mechanical) but can anyone tell me how to fit them? i assumed that it would be like changing a bicycle tyre (i can do that!) but have realised that my current buggy tyres are tubeless apart from the obvious diffulty of levering the tyres onto the rims, do i need to seal anything or will they self seal when the air is pumped in?
