  1. I've got a cheap old Scrub Easy Rider and just want to know what it would cost to get bigger wheels and if it would be worth it. I find that on long grass / solt sand my mates bigger Furnace Creek wheels make a much smoother ride.
  2. The large front wheel I've put on my flexi buggy doesn't leave enough clearance to put a mudguard inside the forks - any ideas for one that sits over the forks?
  3. Posting at 2 in the afternoon Kev, don't you have any work to do? Happy birthday by the way - you need 3 more posts now so your post count matches your age!

I find the climbing harness great - never got on with a seat harness. In a climbing harness, you can do turns by pulling the handles towards you to take the strain and get the unhooked 'feel' and then let them out when on a reach. It is easier then with a seat harness if you unhook, you have to hook back in after each turn - cause what happens? I would look down to line up the strop and then look up to find I was heading for something/one!
  5. I get this sometimes and it is pretty scary. I started using a harness and with it point the buggy upwind quickly (and it may slide a bit - cool) and pull the kite up to 60% or more off the ground but let the harness take the strain so your arms stay attached. Or get a depowerable and let the bar out!
  6. So given the popularity of the access there is obviously a market for depowerable non-lifty kites. So if Arcs are quicker and more responsive than foils, could there be a non-lifty Arc - or is there something in the design that makes them lift?
  7. Great comments but I want to stay away from current kites (like the Access) 'cause good as they are they are not race kites. The point is will design ever enable us to get near race kite performance, with the ability to depower?
  8. Too much rain and work to get out kiting to my mind wandered..... Just a thought - I see that Ozone now have a high aspect depowerable (Manta) so is a depowerable race kite the next step? Would it be like the Manta (lots of bridle) or an Arc (no brodle) tuned to have no lift? I know depowerables are not as efficient but would the wind range make up for it? Would a kite with, say, 80% the performance of a Yakuza be worth it if you could still fly it while the Yakuza guys are in the pits changing sizes or sliding out everywhere? Any thoughts?
  9. Sorry £300 is my limit but have a bump.
  10. Sorry hear your selling it but good luck with a Frenzy - too scarey for me! I could give you £300 and come and get it - interested?
  11. How about £250?
  12. Done this mod on my access works really well . I made up a complete new centre cord and used a stainless D shackle available from any good chandlers. I used a 40mm d shackle which makes a nice loop for the release to work with . Also shacled the top end of the cord (Smaller shackle) so I can easily swap back to chicken loop configuration if needs be. Mike R I'm getting an access so interested in your comments. Any pics?
  13. I am about to add a depowerable to my quiver but wonder how to attach it to my climbing harness. I tried putting the loop through the wichard but this makes the bar quite a way away - it might be difficult to get to the kites safety release as it is past the bar. As there is a primary and secondary release on the kite do I need my QR? Is there a problem in just getting a small shackle or carabiner and attaching the loop to the harness with no wichard? Any thoughts?
  14. Thanks for the offers guys but not really interested in an SE or EXP as too similar to what I have already. That's why I first thought of a Skydancer (yep I've tried Kev's at Exmouth) but wanted one of their smaller kites but can't find anyone that has flown one. Oh well, I'll keep thinking.
  15. I'm glad no one took a picture of my great style - I certainly wouldn't post it anyway. I wasn't actually using a harness at the - I might try it next time. In terms of my weight, should it be over the front or back foot?
