  1. Not arguing, us old gits enjoy watching other old gits, like Robbie Naish. If only I could be that good.... If being older means having good taste I'm glad I'm not a teenager anymore. :D
  2. I also have Unhooked, also Awake. great films, shame about the music. I look forward to seeing Space Monkeys 2. The thing I liked about Flow was it showed some of the other side of our sport, pumping up, waiting for wind etc, not just the flash stuff. Flow is a reminder that we shouldn't take ourselves too seriously, and shows that the best guys also get it wrong. http://www.flexifoil.com/community/forums/images/icons/icon7.gif All this choreographed to great music can't be bad.
  3. I have to agree, it's an excellent DVD and beautifully filmed. I was surprised how well kitesurfing worked with classical, opera etc. A welcome change from the usual frantic head banging rock performed by bands we've never heard of! (I say that as a rock fan) Gareth
  4. About 2 weeks ago. I was very lucky with my timing and all the parts were available. I also have Raptor bindings with it.
  5. Christmas came early today, my Quadrolution arrived. :D The quality of this board is superb and if riding down my girlfriends drive is anything to go by the Quadrolution will be awesome on the beach. Gareth

    Kitedeck

    I'll look forward to it!
  7. When I used to buggy we found spraying WD40 on bearings shortened their life as it degrades the grease. My scrub board is about a year or so old and all I've ever done is rinsed it off (sometimes) and the bearings are fine, although I must admit it's not been heavily used.

    Kitedeck

Yep, it was me. Dave sounds like a nice guy. As far as I know I'll be the only one at Camber with a Quadrolution, so I'll try and be a good advert! Gareth

    Kitedeck

Hi Spike, I've just spoken to Dave. All is sorted and my board arrives next week. Can't wait! Gareth

    Kitedeck

Thanks guys, I'll try calling this evening. I was just getting a little concerned because my board was supposed to have been ready to send over a week ago and I haven't heard from them.

    Kitedeck

Is anyone else having problems communicating with Kitedeck? I can't get hold of them by phone, my call hasn't been returned (left a message a week ago) or my email answered. Strange way to do business! Gareth
  12. Lucky you, I'm waiting for my Quadrolution to arrive. Can't wait. I saw these boards at Camber in the summer and just had to have one...
  13. If you decide to use Q-line get a price from Jonas Forsberg in Sweden, he's probably the cheapest in europe. jonas@airborn.se Gareth
  14. The Blade 111 8.5 is excellent on the water, I'm 12.5 stone and get going easily in light winds on a 169. In 18-20mph or so your 6.6 would be ideal. As long as you have previous kiting experience they're easy to learn with.
  15. I'm in exactly the same position. The board control problems sound all to familiar! However, I'm beginning to get up and go the other way and have managed a few yards before falling off. I'm sure it's only a matter of time.... Gareth
  16. I surf with Mgs and agree with all he says, I'm a little lighter then him :-), and get going easily with a 4.9 in around 20mph. I too have mostly learnt with Blades. My B2 is set up with 2 lines (30m), 65cm bar and no brake bridle. not practical if you want to use it for buggying as well!!! As Malc said, the Blade 3 8.5 is a dream....
  17. I am learning to surf using Blades, they're excellent. yesterday I did my first decent runs, even managing to stay upwind. It's an easy kite to learn with, I came into kitesurfing with nearly 4 years of kite experience which helps I guess. I'd recommend a Blade 3 8.5. This will get you going in very light winds (I'm 12st 11), in the same winds the Lei boys will be on 16 - 20m. If you need any more convincing take a look at this; http://ourworld.compuserve.com/homepages/Chris_K48/ Gareth
  18. Nothing wrong with the Iguana, best buggy I ever owned. Fit the swan neck, put big foots on, armchair on wheels! The deep seating position added to the weight will allow you to fly 1-2 metres bigger. Upwind? No problem! Gareth
  19. My home contents policy covers my kite gear. I pay a bit on top for £1500 of cover. The policy was taken out via Nationwide building society, the insurer is Churchill. Excellent no hassle company as I found out when I was burgled, I got every penny I claimed for. Gareth
  20. If you want Q powerline Jonas Forsberg in Sweden is very competitive, probably the cheapest in Europe. The prices he gave me were very close to the UK trade price. email; jonas@airborn.se Q powerline doesn't require sleeving, comes in flourescent hi vis colours and is very stiff, so doesn't tangle easily. Gareth
